Actually makes sense when you wish to have a wake but cremation is the end result as this thing is designed to be unloaded and put back into rental service without a lot of cleanup. When my Dad passed away my traditional family insisted on a $ 6.700.00 casket I wanted to object but just let them go , my wife ended up in a urn $ 8.00.00 and was scattered in Arkansas with her Dad. Money is for the living.
Sorry to hear about your dad and wife 🥺🌺😢🌷 I agree with you the cost of a funeral is insane when my mother passed away years ago we bought a simple wooden casket nothing fancy for $3,200.00 and then bought the same casket for my father at the same funeral home it went up by $500.00 in 3 1/2 years. Cremation is the way to go.
If you consider that a $5,000 casket spread out over 136 years only comes to 10 cents a day. That's a lot less than a stinkin coffee a day. It's a long term investment. Now you can also get the Internet connected casket to observe your loved ones during the decaying process for just a few cents a day more.
So, this casket opens not only on top, or at the foot end, but also the head end as well as the whole side that is to the right of the deceased (well, usually, if they are not casketed in a reverse panel manner). This would be extra versatile for a normal viewing, Mass Of The Resurrection, and then ending in cremation, not burial. Usually, these types of caskets only open from the foot end and the deceased along with the cardboard box liner containing them is removed from the casket and into the retort for cremation, but this gives a couple of more options for either family, funeral director, or crematory attendant.
Not hardly! But do you know what will? Fired clay. Out of all the ways we have to store data today, only clay tablets will last tens of 1,000's of years
So, you rent the casket. After funeral, I'm guessing graveside, you open the side like that, roll the corpse out into the grave, then you close the casket side. Quickly fill in the grave, then load the casket, back up, to rent again. Neat.
Jeff, we ask that you kindly take a look at our updated video through the link that can be found in the description of this video. The newer video will give you a much better understanding of how the process works, and why this rental casket can be so benificial to families/funeral directors. Thanks.
Tifu, please take the time to watch our newest video which can be found through the link in the description of this video. You will have a better understanding of why this product can be so beneficial to the families of loved ones/funeral directors. Thanks.
My sister rented a casket for a relatives home going, rentals are only available for cremation services. They do make it seem like your buying a new car don't they.
And I thought used car salesmen were sleazy. Only in America will the merchants rent you a casket.! They should just include it in the price of cremation to avoid the appearance of dirtbaggery!..!
Marvin, rental caskets serve a purpose for those who wish to have their loved one viewed traditionally, then interred via cremation afterwards without incurring the cost of purchasing a casket that will not be buried. Rental caskets have been a thing for a century, if not more :)
Hi Becky its Harry@Eastern, thanks for your comment. This Metal Rental casket is designed to hold a cardboard cremation container with a interior that the deceased is viewed in, after the viewing the deceased is removed from the rental in the container and transported to the crematory. Some directors will use a traditional casket as their rental, but they must let the customer know.
Penny, rental caskets are typically used in the case of cremation where a family may choose to have a viewing for their loved one, then to be cremated after. This is where the cardboard insert plays a big role in that the deceased can be presented normally inside the casket, then transported with ease from the funeral parlor to the crematorium all while remaining in the insert that will be cremated along with the deceased. By using this method, funeral directors can continually use the shell of the casket for future viewings as well, where the casket itself will never be buried.
lol sounds like a car salesman. What you got here is a 1992 Ford Escort, 2 ply tires, standard 3 speed automatic transmission, with a 10 body warranty. Death is so dam creepy, cremation is the way for me. We were meant to disappear. Not have a mortician drive a S550 Mercedes.
Hello Molly thanks for your comment, I worked very hard building this front opening metal rental casket, it has a US Patent, but because I am not a major manufacture my invention was laughed at by many Funeral Directors at the trade shows we would attend, its sad that people would not check the detail I put into this rental to make it easy to unload and also give a good presentation at the viewing offering the consumer a less expensive option.
A metal rental casket gives the option of a traditional viewing for families of loved ones who wish to have their deceased cremated. This is the only metal rental casket in existence, and therefore gives funeral directors the freedom to offer choices other than wooden rentals to their clients. Furthermore, our revolutionary front end opening design makes it extremely easy for crematory operators to transfer the cardboard box containing the deceased from casket to cooler. As Edison once said, "Theres a way to do it better - Find it". This is Eastern Caskets "better"!
Sadly people are so ignorant yet feel the need to speak on things they have no knowledge of or expertise in. Your explanation was excellent and a great alternative to spending up to $2K for something that's going to be burned in the final process.
Stupid! Funerals are for the living. The dead have no knowledge of the ridiculous expense that their loved ones are going through for show. Better to give the deceased their flowers while they're alive and can still smell them! Guilt and vanity will make chuckleheads go broke real fast!
Oh well I am not a professional film director, but I tried to demonstrate the work I have done to build the only front opening metal rental casket, for funeral directors to offer to families that wish to have a traditional viewing followed by a cremation. Unfortunately because I am not one of the large casket manufacturer companies many funeral directors laughed at my product, oh well I can attest that my metal rental casket works very well, the one in the video is 15 years old, thanks for your comment and have a relaxing day. Harry@Eastern

Jeff McKenzie I love the touch of rust on the end of the casket. Must be a selling feature!

From what I have learned, you can only use a rental casket once, it's the law

Remember James Brown, Michael Jackson, msybe Whitney, and Aretha Franklin each had the Promethean casket, $25,000, special order.😅 1:40
But is it comfortable?
How much? Where can I get one?
WHY?.THERES NO BLOOD IT LOOKS LIKE A TABLE!.

we will have a rental casket for my mom
My best friend mother did. I watched my best friend drop out of the bottom of the casket. The funeral home forced everyone to back away from the site.

Y’all are some trolls smh. Common sense didn’t tell y’all that this wasn’t how caskets actually open?
Morbid Shit!
People are dying to get in!!! :)
