Honestly, I feel like most 'bootcamps' are never worth it. Too much info in too short of time and you barely walk away with anything of solid skill/memory from them. They're great money makers for the people that put them on and they're not ALL bad, but many of them surely are more of a money maker for the hosts than they are benefit of the consumer.
This video shows it’s not about the bootcamp that makes a person successful, it’s the person who puts in the hours with whatever resources they are given then continuing to put effort even after the bootcamp.
the barrier to entry. it is to at least be able to handle and understand features of an app. chat, friend request, post, scheduling, etc. be able to contribute in how to implement at least one of those features thoroughly
thank you for your comment. a CS degree, if with the opportunity and time. definitely. in the end it is all about the skill you can learn then contribute.
Tbh CS degree might be useful for getting interviews but as far as learning goes, it teaches you theoretical stuff you never use and forget. From the hiring perspective, it does some pre-filtering.
@@petriarchy thank you! I’m grappling with that at the moment (with 3 YOE). I have a business degree and contemplating doing a CS degree mostly for HR and to help land interviews. I appreciate the input! It sounds like UMPI is going to release an online CBE BSCS degree sometime next year and I might try to work through that just to have that golden degree under my belt.
Awesome content. Something I take away from this that you gotta learn how to learn. Not just memorize things.
so true. and understand the concepts and things that the code can do. so you can ask the right questions

As someone without a CS degree and experience, do you think it’s advantageous / worth it to go back and get a CS degree?
