It was around the time where Nintendo and Sony were together and there was a prototype of an next gen console past the SNES, but unlike the N64 that came up, it had a CD Drive in it and it would have been called the "Nintendo Playstation" and the debate was made that CDs would have been able to hold far more content than the standard cartridge and much cheaper to make, but Nintendo and their hubris ($1000 dollar word for _pride_ ) said no and Sony being understandably upset of Nintendo's lack of long term planning split from Nintendo and later on made the Sony PlayStation aka the PS1. That being said for all the PlayStation characters on the track, had Nintendo at least tested with a side by side in the R&D department, that would be true today. Yes even Kratos would theoretically in retrospect would eventually be a Nintendo character had Nintendo played ball with Sony on the idea mentioned.

I'm 38 year sold, got my first NES at age 5 and it has not been one day since I havnt played video games. ShadowGate almost drove me to insanity, Section Z took me 14 years and Ikari Warriors I still havnt cleared without the cheat code.
