Your setup looks great! I wish you had provided more information in the description. Like make and model of pump, information on where you purchased the material such as pump, solar panel, inverter, a picture of the diffuser. This type of information with links adds value to your videos.
I see this is 3 or so years old but I went with the info in it. I'm almost done with a similar set up. I've tested it in the driveway...now tio bust out the post hole diggers :D Thanks for the info and inspiration.
yes, been 3 years but the setup is still going strong all I do is once an while, clean the screen filter on air pump. Hope it all works out for you. thanks for the comment.
That's totally excellent. I'm looking to do the same thing but add a battery and dusk to dawn switch for summer operation which will take advantage of cooler night air.
Nice, assuming you have a charge controller ahead of your inverter. How do you keep inverter from low voltage warning . I use mine (solar) to float a marine battery. Is there a way to set it up without a battery that I'm not seeing. I only run mine during the daylight on an intermittent timer anyway.
Hi. Like the idea. What brand and size pump are you using? I found Blue Diamond ET80 on Ebay that looks good but not sure if 80 watts is too much. Thanks
This is a great set up. can you tell me more about your power inverter? Does it have to be reset everyday? can i have the model number of it. thank you
Now looking at that video, it's from 2014. I don't think the separate controller is needed with the inverter anymore, the new style of inverters that they make have them build in. Or at least that's how I understand it.
I see the pump in the box as well what appears to be a small inverter. But, I do not see a battery or batteries to store the power from your solar panel. Also, wouldn't you need a Charge Controller to keep your battery(ies) from over-charging? Please elaborate. Thank you!
Hello. this setup isn't setup with batteries. The pond is just fine with using the sun as much it can for the day to pump air into the water. You can go to the site, Missouri wind and solar where I got the suntage. They have videos on setup with and without batteries.
Enjoyed your Video! Thanks for the Cost Breakdown...I am digging my pond right now and was wondering what size pond this setup would work in? My pond will be right at an acre in size with an average of 8 ft in depth. Thanks again & God Bless!
Nice set up. It gets very cold where I live. Is there some sort of check valve in the air line to keep water from backing up in the hose and freezing? It would be needed here ,
I have been working on designing a system myself. I was going to use batteries also. I am wondering if you have any issues with freezing airlines overnight in winter?
yes I just took one inch pvc glued it in the shape of an H caped off the ends but one end I put an air supply connector and clap the air hose to it also to keep it the bottom in the H I put tees and added 8 inch pvc with end caps to make legs . it's been in the pond for awhile and still going strong
Randall, no resetting of anything once installed it's on it's own. All, I do from time to time is clean the filter on the air pump. It's still going strong after all these years. Clouds haven't been a problem doesn't run as strong but still pushes out air. It only stops at night in the dark . I guess you could setup a system with batteries but I figure with all the hours it pumps air it's fine and the best is the winter keeping a hole open in the ice when there is times we do get that cold.
The tractor supply heavy rubber airline went right to the bottom with no weights only cost at the time $19.99 not sure the cost now. The system is still going strong just like the first day.
I really like your setup, and I am considering using it at my lake. Just wondering how big your pond is? I have a 1 acre lake ( 325,000 gallon), just unsure if the air pump you used will work on my lake. Thanks!
So, the PVC pipe you used for the diffuser was 8 inch? So the diffuser ended up being pretty large? How did you connect the 12 inch middle piece to the two 24 in pieces? and how did you attach the hose to the diffuser?
Chelsea Cooper with any large pond you need a over flow pipe if you have an earth dam the pipe goes under the back if my earth dam so when the pond gets to much water it drains if off
Jarell York thanks for viewing my video this system doesn't need batteries even on low light days the pump puts out some air worked great this past winter no ice build up on pond.
+Kelly Brady the solar panel I bought from Costco online, best price .Whatever you see is the pictures I have .I bought hose from tractor supply , 50ft only cost $19.99 and it sinks a lot cheater the a $120 for real sinking hose.
Nice. Does this stop Mosquitoes from breeding in your water? I'm hoping for one just like this with batteries to deny them a 1-acre reproduction area :)
yes if your looking down from the top it looks like the letter H .By the way I drilled many hope with a 1/16 drill bit so the air bubbles out along the top of the H
Chelsea Cooper Hello the inverter takes the power from panel and turns it into 120v you can run household items or power tools off it the pump runs so easy off it it's been a few years now and still going strong.
Wow! Thank you for replying! I'm building this exact set up based on your video for an internship I'm doing for a local nature preserve/farm. I'm trying to save their .63 acre pond, and I want to do it in a sustainable way, and this is the video I picked! I may have a few more questions about cords and such, if that is ok? Thank you so much for making this video!
Great concept. Was hoping for more information.
Thanks for sharing. Good starting point.

What inverter and regulator did you use between the panel and the pump?
I see this is 3 or so years old but I went with the info in it. I'm almost done with a similar set up. I've tested it in the driveway...now tio bust out the post hole diggers :D Thanks for the info and inspiration.

What's between the solar panel and the pump?
Could you give more information on the specific hose you used.
At minute 1:45, is that an inverter in there with the pump? If so, what make / model is that?
Where can I find the material list?
No pics of the diffusor or any indication of a voltage regulator/charge controller, inverter?

This is a great video. Does it help with the fishing?
Yes ,I have to many fish in there keeps water clean and oxygen levels high
Nice system. Could you please explain what takes place in the white/green box between the solar panel and the aerator pump, thanks
The only box houses the air pump and Suntage which is under the solar panel.
Okay, the suntage converts the power from DC to AC ?? Thanks for the ver quick response.
Man this is awesome. I need one of these. Can u build me one? Please
I'm selling a similar system, if you're still interested. PM me.
What a good looking setup you made. I'll bet that pump is super quiet. AC pumps are the best at longevity and quietness. And oh yeah, nice Suntaq
Tre Cool, Great Job !
What is the make and model of the inverter? what's the VOLTAGE of the solar panel?
100 watts, Missouri Wind and solar. Where I bought it from they have a video on youtube that explains the system.
Sounds like the Suntaqe is still going strong!
Yes still running strong, all I do is clean the filter on the air pump once a while.
Hi. Like the idea. What brand and size pump are you using? I found Blue Diamond ET80 on Ebay that looks good but not sure if 80 watts is too much.
Thanks
That particular pump only draws 52 watts, so if your inverter was 100w or more, it will be fine, esp on a 100w solar panel.
This is a great set up. can you tell me more about your power inverter? Does it have to be reset everyday? can i have the model number of it. thank you
John Priddy hey john the inverter is from Missouri wind and solar it's a Suntage pwb control uses no battery check out the TH-cam video on it
Do you need the relay and control box that goes with the inverter that is in the Missouri wind and solar video? How did you get around that?
Now looking at that video, it's from 2014. I don't think the separate controller is needed with the inverter anymore, the new style of inverters that they make have them build in. Or at least that's how I understand it.
Do you have a list of everything you used?
Can you post a link to a similar solar panel that you use exactly? Appreciate it
I order the solar panel from Costco
How large a hole in the ice would that make in the winter (if you live in a climate where the pond freezes)?
I have had the pond freeze once but have had ice on it a few times. The largest hole was about 15 inches when freezed over
With the Suntaq is that a DC regulator? That goes before....the DC inverter? To make it all work?
How long were the legs for the deffuser and how far apart are the drilled holes ?
Legs are 6" and I drilled the holes 1/2" apart
Thank you
About how deep is your pond?
I see the pump in the box as well what appears to be a small inverter. But, I do not see a battery or batteries to store the power from your solar panel. Also, wouldn't you need a Charge Controller to keep your battery(ies) from over-charging? Please elaborate. Thank you!

@@swivelgate went to their website and didn't find anything to this effect there.
@@michaelmenendez4961 ok try going to youtube missouri wind and solar Lvs pond aeration. They have videos with batteries setup.

Just realized that you already mentioned the size of your pond is 1 acre!!!! Sorry buddy! Thanks again!
You have murky pond water like mine, is the aerator clearing it up any?
It's not really a filtering system but it keeps the alge down .What i find that helps it's the blue pond dye. The water changes through the seasons.
Nice set up. It gets very cold where I live. Is there some sort of check valve in the air line to keep water from backing up in the hose and freezing? It would be needed here
,
I have been working on designing a system myself. I was going to use batteries also. I am wondering if you have any issues with freezing airlines overnight in winter?
I am attempting to build this set up for my one acre pond which is 20 ft deep. Can you tell me more about the defusser?
yes I just took one inch pvc glued it in the shape of an H caped off the ends but one end I put an air supply connector and clap the air hose to it also to keep it the bottom in the H I put tees and added 8 inch pvc with end caps to make legs . it's been in the pond for awhile and still going strong
Great video, what keeps the inverter going when clouds roll by. Do you have to reset or turn the inverter on every day? Thanks Randy
Randall, no resetting of anything once installed it's on it's own. All, I do from time to time is clean the filter on the air pump. It's still going strong after all these years. Did you have to weight your hose to get it to sink?

Justin Helmer My pond is one acre also and the setup is working great still.
I know its been 2 years, but if your gallons are 325,000, are you saying your pond is one foot deep? (1 Acre ft of water=325,000 US gallons)
So, the PVC pipe you used for the diffuser was 8 inch? So the diffuser ended up being pretty large? How did you connect the 12 inch middle piece to the two 24 in pieces? and how did you attach the hose to the diffuser?
Chelsea Cooper no the 8 inch pipe is my over flow pipe. I use 3/4" pipe for the defuser
Chelsea Cooper I connecter with nose barb and clamp at one end I glued a treated coupling that it screwed into
So the 8 inch pipe is what you used to house the cords going from the panel to the component box?
Chelsea Cooper with any large pond you need a over flow pipe if you have an earth dam the pipe goes under the back if my earth dam so when the pond gets to much water it drains if off
Thats cool. Do you have the batteries located somewhere else?
Jarell York thanks for viewing my video this system doesn't need batteries even on low light days the pump puts out some air worked great this past winter no ice build up on pond.
swivelgate That's really great to hear. I like how you built your box and saved money on the other parts.
Dude very cool. Do you have pictures of the unit in the pond? Where did you buy solar panel? How do you hook up the pump and solar panel?
+Kelly Brady the solar panel I bought from Costco online, best price .Whatever you see is the pictures I have .I bought hose from tractor supply , 50ft only cost $19.99 and it sinks a lot cheater the a $120 for real sinking hose.
Does the hose have a 5/8" ID or OD ?
5/8 " inside
@@swivelgate Thank You
Brilliant. To what depth can the air be pumped down to? My pond is about 9ft.
It's about 8 feet on my pond, but it could go much deeper. I am sure ,as the bubbler pushes strong .
Can you provide dimensions for the diffuser (the size of the "H")? If they were mentioned, I missed it...
Bill Wolfe both ends are 24" and the middle is 12" at all 4 ends I used tee and a story pipe with caps as legs to keep it off bottom .
Good video but need some narration, I thought I was going deaf at first.
Nice. Does this stop Mosquitoes from breeding in your water? I'm hoping for one just like this with batteries to deny them a 1-acre reproduction area :)
Got fish? Fish eat mosquito larvae.
So does it lay on the legs bottom so that if you were in a boat above it would look like an H?
yes if your looking down from the top it looks like the letter H .By the way I drilled many hope with a 1/16 drill bit so the air bubbles out along the top of the H
Did you use the 12 Volt model with Aims 150 Watt DC to AC Modified Sine Wave Power Inverter?
Chelsea Cooper
Hello the inverter takes the power from panel and turns it into 120v you can run household items or power tools off it the pump runs so easy off it it's been a few years now and still going strong.

very helpful!
I hate to keep bothering you but do you have an idea of box dimensions?
2 foot long 1 foot wide
make another for a fountain😂
hey swivelgate how much to make me one and ship it or I can pic it up thanks don
