I used to play Mario Party 9 all the time when I was younger, especially during 2013-2016. I haven't played since February 2020, this video has inspired me to play this game again.
i like how this game gives each character their own unique animation for everything, like how mario swings his arms while slightly bouncing his knees for his idle animation, or how toad punches the ground for when he's running (in later titles he got a new running animation but the punching the ground one carried on to toadette) it gives the characters so much more personality

To all watchers: The reason this Mario Party has a major change from the originals, is because Hudson Software left for Konami in 2011 and this was instead developed by Nd Cube, same goes for Island Tour, 10 and Star Rush.
Not all the modern Mario party titles before Super Mario party were bad. Mario party:star rush was surprisingly decent and Mario party 9 was actually good (Only ruined by the so-called fans). Mario party:island tour and Mario party 10 were just mediocre,and Mario party:the "top" 100...always been a huge disappointment.
I know no one’s gonna read this, but I’ve actually been struggling a bit for the last year with mental health. Lots of bad thoughts roam my mind, and I always feel like a piece of shit to this world. But watching videos like these reminds me of the good old days, when I could play Wii with my older brother and not care about anything. No anxiety, no eating disorders, nothing. Now he is 22 and he is no longer living with me. In fact, now that I think about it, my overall sanity has kind of relied on him. Life can hit you very hard without you even noticing. Watching these nostalgic games always lifts my spirits. I even go back as far as watching the Barbie detective game I played on PC as a little girl. I find catering to my mental health can include reminiscing on positive stuff that made me happy. My hope for you is to find something to help you heal. Maybe even dig up the old Wii. I find love in board games and even play by myself. It’s ok to fall down sometimes. All that’s left to do is learn how to get back up and maybe fall down again and then try again. As someone who’s actually done this, I can tell you: Vehicles you unlock with Party Points can be used in Solo Mode. I unlocked the Float Mattress and sure enough, when I entered the level we were driving it instead of the default vehicle!

I don’t understand why Nintendo wouldn’t put rosalina in this game. I mean look at the game pack design. Rosalina would go so well with the galaxy-like theme. But I’m not saying the game is bad. It’s actually really cool. And I like it a lot.

But then it's the same people who don't give a chance to a different formula, I've played MP9 for as long as I can remember, tried MP8, MP2 and MP:ST. 8 was ok, 2 was iconic and Star Rush was too decent. 9 has a big space in my heart. The car is a time bomb and in fact this game made me cry from frustration playing with my cousins. That's the Mario Party I know, a time bomb for fights and fun. The music is beautiful, the animations have a lot of personality, and the mini-games are excellent. I think the Mario Party fandom was hard on 9, just like Smash Bros fans were hard on Brawl. This game isn't the best, but it's good? Holy shit, this bitch is awesome!

The concept of Mario Party 9 is unique and in a good way. It’s also the first Mario Party to introduce Boss Rush.
