She's one of the best interviewees I've ever seen. Just laid back talking about the Hollywood history surrounding her own life, and then just opens the door to her own mind and what makes her tick, then Conan just 100% in sync with her and goes off into humor and philosophy, then comes back to her, and then off he goes again. She's just so real and fascinating.
Natasha is one of the few I’ve seen with Conan where he needs to keep up with her, instead of the other way around. I love them both ❤ this conversation has been a delight.
As a middle aged man, Goth Conan has cracked me on the head. I feel a sense of relief when I hear him discuss mental health because I connect with so much of what he says. The whole bit about inanimate objects, just so spot on. Ah, mortality the funniest of comedy wells.
Inanimate objects are to be used. Animate objects are to be cared for. That is the meaning of the words and the simple truth every moral man would relate to. When you care for inanimate objects because of what use they substitute, be sure to not care so much that you have no use for them. Inanimate objects can be fragile and unless you do not care for yourself you should use them in the most pleasing way.
This is why I’m subscribed to this channel. Every once and awhile, there’s a guest that is willing to go somewhere profound but funny, and Conan is the only one in the business that can ride along and add to what is actually being communicated.
That was a missed opportunity for his shows...a segment called Goth Conan in which he extols his dark and nihilistic feels about his good doodling pen. 😭 It would have been a classic. I looked up to Natasha growing up because she never exploited her sexuality. She was often the observant, emotionally intelligentgent character that ends up staying with you long after her performance. She would tackle sexual subjects through the role but it was philosophical and satirical. I so needed to see that contrast to T and A being all you're worth. So glad she's still going strong and on her own terms now. What a thought provoking conversation, thanks! 💗✨
A fellow rehab girl here. Thanks for talking a bit about it. I was kept Very busy. From classes about the psychology of disease, to karaoke, to writing sessions, meditation and gym time. Also meeting beautiful people with different afflictions. We are not flawed when we are troubled.
It speaks to Natasha's sense of humour, that she can make such a joke about the fact that, instead of getting the lambo - which was promised to her - all she got was a bad credit score. It's, like, ouch AND lol😂... She has such a dry sense of humour, which is just great... More of that lady, please!!
Conan is a great comedian, but I enjoy him on a much deeper level than that. This is a guy who keeps himself in check as a regular joe with big thoughts. I think this is something that gets lost really quickly with a lot of celebrities. Same with Natasha actually. Really appreciated this segment, thank you.
I knew nothing about Natasha Lyonne (other than seeing some of her work) and it’s been really interesting knowing a bit about her. She has very lively eyes. This was a very interesting podcast. I enjoyed it a lot.
Totally know what Goth Conan is talking about and had a similar “epiphany” when buying collectibles. It’s all just stuff that goes from one person to the next. If it makes you happy while you own it, then great, but you can’t take it with you.
I would love to read her autobiography, or a biography on her, if one is ever written. She seems to have such an interesting (albeit tragic early life) story.
Fantastic! I love that the veil is lifting on celebrity and in so many other areas. When celebrities are being honest about what matters, it's so incredibly helpful for the rest of us. But we have to hear it.
This is why I love Conan, he can have guests on and let them be themselves. They can explore topics that are more than just Hollywood shilling and instead can be maudlin while still having a comedic edge. The only other American talk show host I have seen do this is Ferguson.
I was tripping while I listened to this one, which just magnified all the the random philosophy in this conversation. I thought for sure it would sound more grounded later on.
Nothing like being able to relate to another autodidact and that, "what's this?! I need to know!" And, off to the library. Natasha makes me feel less alone in the world.
The tie-clip or bookmark is not the point or the thing of value. If you collect tie-clips and this is a particularly fine or rare tie-clip, it gains in emotional value because the giver was aware of your passion and went out of their way to get you something you would appreciate. If a son or daughter spent their meagre allowance on it to please you, then it gains additional value because of their effort. Similarly, in the grand scheme we are of no lasting importance but at the same time we are the universe’s way of perceiving itself. That’s pretty special. In an infinity of existence without sentience, we are self-aware to the point of reflecting on our own mortality. Happy to discuss this further on your podcast.
that's crazy i am literally reading that Bill Bryson book for the 2nd time right now. it's amazing, highly recommend it. A Short History Of Nearly Everything
Since his name came up, I suppose this is as good a place as any to ask, do the average American public still read much Pynchon, or does he more or less belong to the Conan generation who I presume grew up hearing about his books? I'm not American, just curious.
0:23 Gourley Breaks. 0:36 Conan regroups. 0:45 Sona breaks. 1:!8 Conan is hiding his reaction. Lyonne 3 - Team Coco 0. You all have Andy as your back up. Lyonne is a pro pro! Richter... Don't sleep in. A-game Andy. I'm on Team Russian Doll. Sorry.
I like to think about the age of Earth Vs the age of the universe. Earth- 4.5 Big bang - 13.5 So 9 billion years the universe existed without Earth. Nothing matters accept what you give meaning to, like the USD
She is eccentric and loveable in a kooky way ,and conan is trying to follow along the best he can.... Natasha and Russell brand ... now that would be something ~
Existential nihilism can be hilarious sometimes. Natasha would make a great Rogan guest too, authentic, honest, dysfunctional, funny, intelligent and with no hint of ego or narcissism, a joy to watch.
I always walked around with a tattered copy of the Bell Jar, so I know what she's saying lol. Also, the only thing I know about Rasputin I learned from that Abba song. They also say we never truly own anything we just borrow it.

I never really knew of her before this interview, she is amazing
Seems more like he's trying to figure out how to regain the conversation's momentum. She kills the vibe pretty frequently.
She's taller haryier and redder
He needs to keep up because she makes the path go from straight to curved and looping lmfao
He does shy away from being the star
She was born an old Jewish man from New York.
She loathes inanimate objects and logistics.
Freaky Friday with her and Mel Brooks, now, please/thank you.
This feels like the best episode (series of clips) I've seen in a while, Natasha Lyonne is a great guest, I love where these conversations have gone.

Yeah, it drives me crazy when hosts feel so obligated to stick to their list of questions. It turns the whole interview and makes it so insincere.

conan is a hugely educated guy and he’s really impressed… never seen him react like this before
A fellow rehab girl here. Thanks for talking a bit about it. I was kept Very busy. From classes about the psychology of disease, to karaoke, to writing sessions, meditation and gym time. Also meeting beautiful people with different afflictions. We are not flawed when we are troubled.

I need a 24 hour channel of the two of them talking.

I’d like more Natasha. Can she be a weekly guest? I can’t get enough.
She’s wonderful! A delight!
I knew nothing about Natasha Lyonne (other than seeing some of her work) and it’s been really interesting knowing a bit about her. She has very lively eyes. This was a very interesting podcast. I enjoyed it a lot.
"Rah rah Rasputin
Lover of the Russian Doll!"
😄
I see what you did there
That voice. I wanna hug it.

Great conversation. "The more I know, the less I know," is a motto of mine too.
Deconstructing the house that ego built.. I felt that.
Brilliant way to relate and then explain it, Conan. He's really great at his job.
Conan isn't goth, he's just Irish.
😆
Fantastic! I love that the veil is lifting on celebrity and in so many other areas. When celebrities are being honest about what matters, it's so incredibly helpful for the rest of us. But we have to hear it.
The inanimate objects existentialism makes me feel completely understood. Wonderful conversation!
This is why I love Conan, he can have guests on and let them be themselves. They can explore topics that are more than just Hollywood shilling and instead can be maudlin while still having a comedic edge. The only other American talk show host I have seen do this is Ferguson.
i love her so much! this convo is the best
i need to hear an interview between Natasha and Steve O
Sponsored by mucinex
It would sound like someone scraping 2 concrete slabs together.
I was tripping while I listened to this one, which just magnified all the the random philosophy in this conversation. I thought for sure it would sound more grounded later on.
lol oh man i miss having access to shrooms.. conan on shrooms would be hilarious
"I love goth Conan'' me too lol
🖤
Amazing conversation!❤
I have no idea what she is saying, but I like the way she says it.
You like the cut of her jib.
😂
Currently reading Against the Day. Has she talked about Pynchon elsewhere? I would to hear her thoughts on Against the Day/Pynchon
This interview segment should have had The Cure playing softly in the background.
yessss
This is a great episode 😂
Her voice is my favorite 😊
❤️🔥
Conan's face when she said she had a low credit score 🤣
"It is worse than you think." LOL.
Haha I’m not the dumbest person alive but everything I know about Rasputin, I learned from Boney M.
Fantastic, she’s absolutely fantastic ❤
I’m actually reading that Bryson book right now! lol so good
Nothing like being able to relate to another autodidact and that, "what's this?! I need to know!" And, off to the library. Natasha makes me feel less alone in the world.
She has a very attractive mind!!!!
100%
I love Natasha so much ❤️ she’s so talented
Goth Conan needs to come out more! 💀🕷🕸🧛🏻♂🎩
i could listen to Natasha and conan talk about death and the futility of human existence for hours...
Thanks for funny and valuable video as always 😂😂😂
Conan dressing as a goth would be very funny
Watch the video he did in Japan, it was close enough.
@@Woozlewuzzleable Him dressing up kawaii was very funny
Haha, i remember Krippendorfs tribe! Ive never met another person whos seen it, or even mentioned it😂
Love the way she talks
she’s so down to earth i love her
EXACTLY where I'm at, thank you.
saved. this is fantastic. longtime fan.

Who are you?
Every time I relocate I have an acute urge to burn all of my stuff.
the more Conan talks about himself personally, the more kinship I feel and like him.
What a bloomin' gorgeous Soul! Kudos after all the excrements of childhood!
I love that $42 is chump change for Conan. That's a lot of money.😂
Pynchon mentioned!
Anytime Pynchon is mentioned I show up with a big ol’ smile on my face
Genuinely good
I may have found my favorite interview clip
No matter what Conan pays Sona to have her delightful laugh be part of the podcasts - he's getting the bargain of a lifetime!
Is this the last great podcast? Or the first? Brilliant whatever way!
last few minutes was great and dead on
Need more goth Conan
that's crazy i am literally reading that Bill Bryson book for the 2nd time right now. it's amazing, highly recommend it. A Short History Of Nearly Everything
a 14 minute clip to induce nihilism and depression with. Appreciate
"deconstructing the house that ego built" -- our task at midlife, and it usually happens TO us
I love goth Conan.
I love goth Conan too
Since his name came up, I suppose this is as good a place as any to ask, do the average American public still read much Pynchon, or does he more or less belong to the Conan generation who I presume grew up hearing about his books? I'm not American, just curious.
I keep thinking of raver Conan in the Harajuku district on the Tokyo remote. He'd feel right at home in a goth club.
Natasha and Conan should have an episode of them sitting by the ocean at night talking about cool stuff
Omg I totally erased that movie from my memory.., if she hadn’t mentioned it I wouldn’t have remembered it. Saw it as a kid 😮
"i mean it's a never ending nightmare ugh you know being a person" - sent me
Natasha Lyonne is everything an beyond
Krippendorf's Tribe made 2.2 million or so over its budget. It was profitable! I may have even seen it someplace (cable?) Eek!
Love Natasha!
I remember the trailer from that movie with Grosse Point Blank.
Goth Conan 4 life
I saw Krippendorf's Tribe in theaters
She reminds me of hipster Lucille Ball...
Jk! Love her, especially in Detroit Rock City
Can you imagine Natasha being an obgyn (midwife) and the first thing the baby hears and sees is her? 😂😂
0:23 Gourley Breaks. 0:36 Conan regroups. 0:45 Sona breaks. 1:!8 Conan is hiding his reaction. Lyonne 3 - Team Coco 0. You all have Andy as your back up. Lyonne is a pro pro! Richter... Don't sleep in. A-game Andy. I'm on Team Russian Doll. Sorry.
The inanimate objects bit is what I refer to as Future Garbage.
I like to think about the age of Earth Vs the age of the universe.
Earth- 4.5
Big bang - 13.5

I have seen that movie, it was funny..
Where can one see this videos ?
GOTH CONAN
I NEED TO FIND THIS MOVIE SHE IS TALKING ABOUT AND WATCH IT TO BELIEVE IT'S REAL!
There is no way that I will have any compassion for these multi-millionaires... But, I love these foos! :)
Does this then make me goth 🤣🤣 bc I agree
God I love her
Conan, I'll remember you long after you pass on. My night terrors will make sure of that.
I hope he still bought something at the auction though.
Existential nihilism can be hilarious sometimes. Natasha would make a great Rogan guest too, authentic, honest, dysfunctional, funny, intelligent and with no hint of ego or narcissism, a joy to watch.
Do they release full episodes in video format anywhere?
I always walked around with a tattered copy of the Bell Jar, so I know what she's saying lol. Also, the only thing I know about Rasputin I learned from that Abba song. They also say we never truly own anything we just borrow it.
I love The Bell Jar!!!
CONAN HAS DEEP IRISH SADNESS
