I have an older magnum alert security system, recently, my green lights blinks showing zone 2 open, I checked the wiring and connections, no break. I replaced the battery, still shows open circuit. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
Hello @maharper100, For a zone issue, it is best troubleshooting the zone by using isolation. Effectively if the system requires an End of Line Resistor (EOLR), wire just a resistor on to the zone terminal in question. Or, if Programmed to not use an EOLR, and is set for normally closed (NC) just add a short wire across the zone terminals. See if this clears the trouble/error. If so, then there is an issue with the wiring or sensor at the door/window/ect.. being protected. (Life Safety Devices are usually Normally open and usually require an EOLR).
Question: We bought a house a few years ago. NX-6 box is what I found trying to find a master code with no luck. I don’t know how, but I was woken up by beeping that this thing does all the time. Now how the Alarm was armed, only God himself knows. I was trying to stop the beeping and somehow armed the darn thing. My wife nor myself know of any code. The only way to shut the alarm off is to turn off a circuit breaker. However that also cuts off power to the outlets in the living room which is 5 feet from the alarm! Can you please help?? Or if you can give me a phone number maybe to whoever makes this alarm. Please! I’m begging for any kind of help. I don’t want to get rid of the system. Thank you
I'm experiencing the same issue, with the NX-6 box. Did you figure it out? Smoke detector went off yesterday got it to stop but now the system just beeps was able to cut power but want my smoke detectors (which are hard wired) to be on. If I turn the system on the key pads just beep. I hit something when trying to get the smoke detectors to stop. I don't know the system password. Let me know what you did.
Just the video I needed! Now my beeping stops after replacing the backup battery! Thanks!
Perfectly explained, it helped solve my annoying trouble light that would not quit. Thank you so much!

There is power at my control panel buy my keypads are blank like no power…could a back up battery cause that? Thanks.
Same issue. Not sure what’s the solution
Yup same
I have the Ademco alarm control box, but CANNOT find a motherboard or battery ANYWHERE. Could it be there isn't one?
Thanks. Saved me a lot of headaches.
Great video - thank you for your help!
