  • The Honda Ridgeline still comes with a naturally aspirated V-6 engine. And it gets decent highway fuel economy, even in the off-road oriented Trailsport model.

I have this same TS trim & color.. on a recent trip from SC to VA my mpg was averaging 28.. with a max of 31 for 90 minutes of my 5 hour journey. I have found the truck computer to be about 1 mile mpg higher than real world math.. in other words, it says I got 28 mpg.. but the actual real world was 27 mpg.. my average speed was 72 mph the whole trip of about 800 miles. Still.. FAR BETTER than the 23 mpg as advertised on the window invoice sticker!
P.S. I did not use the Econ button either.

Actually better than I thought considering the AT tires.

My '19 Odyssey got 31.7 mpg with that V6 and 9sp going from Raleigh, NC to Charleston, SC and back at 70-75mph.

2wd, and more aerodynamics helps compared to the ridgeline. 31.7 is really good

Does the trailsport handle as well as the other trims on the hwy?

I actually really like this missized truck and it comes in second to the frontier for me but 46k...is a big no for me

I paid 41k for mine, but its a Sport. I do the same hunt roads i did with my 21 Taco 4x4 with the stock Sport. I could lift it about 1.5 inches myself but I found its not needed. I'm in Florida, no rocks. I didnt want a moon roof or leather, so the Sport. It was still cheaper than the bare bone 24Taco SR5 i was looking at. The Sport is the bottom end and still nicer in trim than a SR5. Granted, the Nissan is cheaper and a great truck, IMO. I like this for the ride, roomy cab, the mpg, and it tows my camper better. Also of note 1582 payload, my 21 Taco was 990, and the Nissan is 1200 as was the 24 Taco. Payload is important in a midsize when towing a camper.

@@bwhit707 Plus all the Toyota dealers I have looked at are marking up their trucks and 4Rs an LCs by 10-.20%. I won't pay that. I thought the Frontier was pretty small for its price and the Pro 4Xs were the same cost as the Honda.

@@richardhouvener6423 I agree, the Nissan is a great truck if you need a truck to work all the time, the Ridgeline is a pleasure. My Toyota dealer recently called me again to buy my 21, I told them Honda had it and sold it. They asked me about the Honda and wasn't " it just a 4 wheel drive mini van with a bed?" See the quotes? I told them no its a Pilot with a bed and it has 1582 payload compared to 990. After that shot, I told them your product gets all these add ons at the distributer then you dealers want your cut so a 41k sr5 4x4 is now a 47k sr5 4x4. That your problem. They finished by "well we now have stock if you decide to come back." I told them well no kidding , and no thanks.

@@bwhit707 I had similar results at one Toyota dealer, a salesman walked up when I was looking at a 4R sticker and I asked him if all the other vehicles had dealer added stickers ($8000 on this one, a $48400 factory price), He said yep pretty much and walked off. He didn't even try to sell me the car.

@@bwhit707 No toyota product is worth it really, because of the amount of hoops you have to jump through to get anything.
