Why don’t you cut and marinate the chicken before at home ? One night before or at morning marinate the chicken and refrigerate and when you go for picnic then you save time and the meat will be tender because of being marinated for long, it will cook fast and even taste good. Curd and papaya make the meat tender. You can add some curd for tandoori chicken Usually raw papaya is added for hard meat to cook fast like chops n mutton. Ideally the spices will penetrate into the meat if marinated and kept for long, so taste is also enhanced and cooking time also saved. You use meat tenderizers ? Check online.
