i would say as long as the press faces are more dense than object being pressed you could flatten your described object to around 75% of original height, with great force probably around 1500tons!
My brothers and I (33 years ago) laughed hysterically at this, especially the canned ham. We still occasionally joke about it. That and Late Night Tiger Cam.
Conan is the shit today, but Dave was the shit back IN the day. I also hear that Steve (Allen) also did wacky stunts that influenced Dave. God bless 'em all, I say!
When I worked in a machine shop I made a collar for a hydraulic ram for a car crasher. The old collar had broken because somebody put a allen wrench under the ram and than activated the hydraulics. The allen wrench was pushed into the steel collar. Didn't break the wrench or the collar just made a hole. The collar was about 2" think and 12" in diameter.
well,as you said... incompressible liquid, if it is just that, then in theory, if you can apply a great enough force with it, it should compress anything, providing it is .. incompressible!!
"There's a writer's strike and we need to do the show anyway. And the host is a writer. Which means we have to do a comedy show while visibly demonstrating that it's not being written. What the sam scratch do we do?" You make fucking television history, that's what.
love dave miss him

I really watched this whole video worried that Dave was about to get his damn hand crushed
That's nothing, my 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 ton press makes a black hole.
lmao
What year was this?
Omg I really thought that fake spider was real at first ;-;
I wanted to see the Sunday Times being crushed so badly. I'm not sure why they denied us that pleasure.
Вот оно как все начиналось

Oh yeah?! well....your joke....dePRESSES me....a ha...a ha
The Hydraulic Press Channel stole Letterman's sketch idea.
someone should make the worlds strongest press and its like 100000 tons then put a piece of paper in it and see how flat you could get it!
Phone
Hehehe
Disappointed. I really wanted to see that baseball!
FIRST FUCKING COMMENTER IN 8 MONTHS.
