    Beautiful ☺.
Just in case you are interested, the Cab and IR block EQ cuts 6dB/oct, while the low/high EQ block cuts 12dB/oct

Great video, brother! One of the best explanations of how an EQ before and after an amp can affect your tone. That’s why the Boss GE-7 was always on my pedalboard. Also… Thank you for the great flash sale! I just got 4 packs at 70% off!!

I’ve always wondered about volume and tone settings on strats, too… no one really talks about volume, but it’s basically always on 10 by default and when you want to clean up the tone, you roll back the volume. I always thought to roll back the tone knob for a darker tone, but HW’s EQ vids give me some ideas about patches of my own. Great stuff!

Pure digital EQs are linear and so are IRs, which means they can be reordered however you want as long as there are no non-linear sections in between them. So the last 2 EQ positions are one EQ position, although using different EQs for different purposes is still there.

Not only highly insightful, greatly refreshing to find someone embracing what you can do with modellers like Helix but importantly able to articulate why that is a good thing and shouldn’t be shunned due to old world viewpoints

Couldn’t agree more with these suggestions. I try to get the tone from the amp first, and use the EQ as the polisher if the amp cab combo isn’t quite there yet.

HW, I'm a huge fan, always getting IR's, tone match patches, etc for my HX Stomp.... Anyways, I love the new tone match patches but I'm noticing that the bottom end on these are very squishy and sometimes muddy (but everything else sounds killer!!!) Is there anyways around this? I use a Keeley compressor pro very first in my chain going through my overdrives and then into your new patches (HX Stomp), .... Thoughts??
Again, huge fan, always purchasing your stuff.... It's the best out there 👊🔥 (G12H30 545 POS 4 is my jam IR BTW)

If the real amp has FX loop an EQ pedal can be put there to do more or less the same 👍 Some learnt it from Dimebag Darrel.

Super video! Informative AND entertaining. Often I struggle with my Helix to get great tones, especially when switching between guitars - Strat, Tele, ES-335, Duesenberg. These EQ tips are really helpful!
Oh, and I totally agree with you about tweaking the amp section. Isn't the whole point of modeling to break AWAY from the restrictions of real-world analog?🤔
