can you please tell me why it's common to use an unloader instead of a clutch? have you ever seen a clutch driven pump mounted to a gasoline or electric drive engine? if so, what engages the the clutch?

I have the blue spring unloader and was wondering if there is any way to repair them? I took it apart and couldn’t see anything wrong and was wondering where they usually fail. When mine quit working I lost all pressure and it was leaking through the bypass. Also if you happen to install it incorrectly will that damage it?

You can buy the internal parts to replace them, but in our experience it is better to just replace it. Usually either the actuator spring or the seat gets washed out is the usual areas that fail on unloaders. If you install it wrong it would more than likely damage your pump first because the pressure would have no where to go.
