I just want to say that: 1. This channel is the best one. 2. Tmux is insane. Recently I discover that you can send key pressing to different panels, windows an sessions. So, you can use it to test terminal applications, transform nano into an IDLE (almost), and so much that your imagination is the limit.
Someone please prove me if this is not one of the best channels ever existed on TH-cam? And shamefully I just found it! Can't wait to see every single video. The explanation of tmux was awesome and so clear there's no need to have your hands on the keyboard to learn it, you just watch it and then know it in detail. Thanks for the top quality courses.
I love the simple straight forward way Jay goes over things. He makes sure we understand what is going on without making it seem like he's talking down to us. I've tried several other lessons to learn things like this and most of them either treat the audience like they're morons, or go way too into detail, or just go off on wild tangents, like they're just trying to show how much they know, thereby losing the audience.
Top notch production quality, I have already seen old tmux series (started using it after your guide). Your video content is already gold standard, now with this level of production quality its gonna be amazing!
For long running shell tasks so far I have used only "screen" command, because I learned it some 20 years ago and very rarely needed it. This video convinced me to give a try to tmux. ;-)
Heh. I JUST watched the first series yesterday. I'll watch this updated one tonight to really dig the ideas deep into the 'ol brain and see if I can keep them there. Good work keeping these up to date. A lot of people would just say "I've already done that" and left it alone.
Why not use the “p” key for the Prefix command … or … why not call the “b” key the tmux break-and-command sequence. Just not sure why the B key was chosen. I’d love to know the developer’s thought process when deciding keystrokes.
Do you have a Patreon or a like where we can pay for your videos? I’m happy you give it away for free but since I found your channel I have binged watched most of your content and would like to support you more than through ads.

I just love the way you explain these topics! The gold standard of how to teach folks things in Linux!
Windows: Reboot...Linux: Be Root! 😁 Microsoft gives us Windows, Linux gives us the Whole House!
Can’t binge without a playlist.

tmux vs screen... pros and cons without the evangelism
Lack of serial support kills tmux for me
Loved it .
Yes, all truly interesting and well-explained. But the real question is: how the heck that screen is behind you?? How many inches is it wide???
I did not expect to see the whole series all at once. I like it, but that must hurt your TH-cam statistics.
Thanks Jay!
Omg, i didn't even know an ssh session didn't keep running if one got disconnected!

You are great
Is this video helpful for ubuntu users
perfect
Does tmux have more superpowers than screen?
With Oracle Linux on Virtualbox, I had to press ctrl+b, ctrl+b d. Not sure why, but a single ctrl+b did nothing.
Jay baba!!!
