Hola Alberto. Feliz Ano Nuevo. I liked the video. And the church. The facade is typical of many colonial era churches in the state of Jalisco, with its broad stone facade and economical amounts of sculpture, although some of the low relief carving disappears in the shadows of your video. The spiral Solomonic columns are typical of the 17th century, while the estipite columns on the retablo mayor are typical of the 18th century. At the other end of the spectrum is Santa Cruz de las Flores, on the road to Guadalajara, with a facade covered with beautiful carving in the stone. I think the cloister and convento are 16th century, and the espadana/bell tower probaqbly dates from the 16th-17th centuries, although it has been so well restored that it looks almost new and not a part of the church's facade. The cloister is very spacious, and the lack of a second story enhances the effect. The Franciscans may not have wanted a two story convento, but compensated by building a five bay cloister to accommodate more rooms. Over all a very pleasing colonial establishment. The "park" with its restaurant and cabins is a real plus, as is that exceptionally long portales.
I think your comments about the pueblos magicos are accurate. Amacueca appeals to me more than Sayula, mostly because of their churches. The spiral stairs of the church in Sayula is very old and fun, but the tendency in the 19th century to give churches a neoclassic makeover rarely improved things. The Ionic stone columns on the facade of the church in Sayula must have been expensive, but I wonder what was lost. The main alter in the church in Sayula pales in comparison to that in Amacueca. Perhaps the authorities who designate a town a pueblo magico will have to find a way to differentiate between the impressive pueblos magicos and the rest of them. Otherwise tourists who visit two or three unimpressive pueblos magicos may decide they are a waste of time and head to Cancun or Puerto Escondido.
Angahuan, Michoacan lies between Uruapan and Camecuaro, and is the point of departure for trips to see the Paricutin volcano. I enjoyed my brief visit a lot. Because of the volcano all of the town is covered in gray sandy ash. The houses are mostly wood planks or beams, although some are made of stone. The roofs are wood shingles. Of course that was 50 years ago, but maybe things are still very picturesque. The old convento has been photographed a lot and can be found in many books on Mudejar influenced churches in Mexico. The portal of the church facade features three ascending alfizes, and the adjaqcent convento features an exterior second story Tarascan style wooden balustrade that repeats on the interior cloister. Inside there is still a gilded retablo and the wooden Mudejar ceiling above the retablo is painted with numerous designs. There is an atrium cross and across the atrium there lies the former hospital and chapel. Definitely worth a visit the next time you are in the area. I hope you and your family have a great year. Hello to Adriana. Stay well.

Greetings William, first of all I hope that the year 2024 brings you many blessings in all aspects, especially in health since with that you can achieve everything else. Indeed, we liked Amacueca more than Sayula, it is a very clean town with several gastronomic and cultural attractions.
Currently it is a bit dangerous to go through the region that you mention of Paricutin due to crime and that has caused us to postpone a visit there, hopefully security will be restored soon.
Yesterday afternoon we returned to Pachuca from our trip to Jalisco for the end of the year and so we could visit the family who are mostly there, I hope you had a very nice Christmas and New Year's holiday, here in Pachuca they celebrate Also to the kings tomorrow, we send you greetings and blessings friend, a hug.
