    I have 1 question, sometimes you say 4 digit address 1 digit at a time, like 1480 (one,four,eight,zero) but then you say 2523 (twenty five, twenty three). What is the difference?

    • @EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole
      @EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question - I've noticed more of a tendency to read the digits one by one in American English, especially where there's an odd number of digits, like a grouping of 3, but 4 numbers are easily broken into 2 groups, so sometimes you will hear them combined. It also depends on the numbers. Some just may be easier said one way of the other.

    • @EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole
      @EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It appears to be 34 S 11th St. Separate the direction "S" from the street number and street name. S refers to South, so South 11th St.

    How would you pronounce the house number 10001 (as in 10001 Sunset Blvd)? Ten-Oh-Oh-One? What about 20705? Twenty-Seven-Oh-Five?
    Edit: Actually, that would probably be understood as 2705, so not a good idea. Two-Zero-Seven-Zero-Five then? When do you say zero and when do you say oh?

    • @EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole
      @EnglishWithAccentCoachNicole  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Americans mostly read each digit separately - two oh seven oh five. We more frequently use oh since it's faster than saying zero. You can use either though.

    Hmm_ watching someone reading a teleprompter is - difficult for those of us who look at the person speaking. Watching those eyeballs scanning the text, going back & forth, up & down, resetting back to re-start the scan; just uncomfortable to watch.
    Great lesson material, though.

    I think that; 3511 NE 82nd Ave. should be kept together.
    "Three five one one" or
    "Thirty five eleven" .
    Saying "Thirty five one one" sounds like we've moved on to the street part. Thank you !
