    Hi, sorry I didn't catch your name but I wanted to express my gratitude for your excellent tutorial. I literally completed this maintenance routine this weekend step-by-step with pausing at each stage (took me 12hrs, with so sticky bolts). Perfect! Absolutely perfect description with torque settings and really helpful guidance. My S-Max started first time and now much more confident in 60'000miles time to do it again! Thank you so much! Pete.

    Thank you for the excellent video. I successfully replaced the cambelt on my 2005 Volvo V50 2.0d using your video as reference. The base engine is indeed the same, but there were some minor differences. On the Ford, the cambelt tensioner has the stud bolt, but on the Volvo it's just a normal hex bolt. The magnetic timing ring on the crank was different, too - on the Volvo the timing ring has to be pressed out of the crank end with the help of two jack bolts. Can't remember if there was anything else. Despite these differences this video is, for all intents and purposes, the most helpful. Thanks again!

    *Edit, If you warm the crankshaft bolt with a heat gun for about 4 mins it softens the threadlock ;)

    You can also use an 8mm drill bit and a heavy flat crowbaron the flywheel, I changed my cambelt and waterpump on a 2011 Galaxy following Allen Howatt mondeo cambelt instructions. Great video, well done as I think your the only one who have uploaded a cambelt change on a Galaxy!!

    Brilliant instruction! I was looking for info on my 5008 and there is very little, I saw this was the same engine and I am very grateful and lucky that I did. Thank you so much it has saved me all the heartache of removing things I don't need to etc. I have some other repair work to do, to trace a diesel fuel/air leak, but I am definitely going to do the cambelt now too.
    Your English is excellent by the way, I'm sure someone else has already said but the rectangular metal object that fits into the crankshaft is called a "Woodruff key". Subscribing now too.

    Doing a cambelt on 2.0 durators on 2015 ST and it’s absolute cunt of a job. Most of the EGR need to stay in and getting that starter motor out takes some time. My only confusion is the hole in the block used to lock the flywheel. I have two, one top covered with plastic cover with pin and bottom one uncovered , which is weird.

      I have DeWalt powergun, I think it has 900Nm, not sure about exact name. Crankshaft pin is 8mm, camshaft - I'm not 100% sure, probably also 8. I bought it as set on eBay... or Amazon and didn't measure it.

I spend all my free time learning to code and maybe build new projects, I thought that no one is asking for any additional info anyway (you're the first one). My last few videos are missing descriptions, I suppose I need to do something about it now 😉
      As for tools - they are quite common, these specific ones I normally buy on eBay with a basic search. Amazon might have something... Sorry.
      And, by the way, Ukraine 🇺🇦 is also something that distracting me from keeping WheelsAndMotors going. My mum is from Ukraine, all these cambelts seem so unsignificant in comparison to all those horrors and unjustice that Ukrainians are going through..

      That car is 2014. The new model came out in 2015. I believe that 2011 should be a belt.

    Is the crank pulley bolt a normal right hand thread or is it left hand thread

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is normal thread - to undo you turn anticlockwise, but it's VERY tight.

    ive got exactly same engine in volvo v70 2.0 2010, the 8ml locking pin for the flywheel does not fit the hole its more like 6ml .the locking pins came in a kit supposedly for that emgine the kit also had the piece that fits the flywheel to lock it 2 pins and 1 flywheel locker altogeather.find it strange how that pin dosnt fit the hole,WHEN you undo the cam pully bolt for first time is it best to put car in gear 2/3rs with brake on ? ive tried heat and air wrench it disnt work so wondering what to do now .?>?

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That hole for flywheel pin get clogged up. Initially I also thought that I have a wrong size tool. The pin is just a tool for timing set, it's a precision tool, not for locking flywheel. Flywheel must be locked with that other tool.

  • @diyguy2471

    • @wawayltd

    hi camshaft and camshaft don't meet at dead point what can i do help

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lock crankshaft first, then if camshaft pin can't be fitted - take the belt off and turn camshaft slightly, whichever way it needs to be turned, to fit the pin. Obviously don't do the full turn, but you won't be able to anyway, because of the valves.
      I think I've explained that in the video

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For every turn of crankshaft, there's only half a turn of camshaft. Don't take the belt off yet, but do another full turn of crankshaft and your camshaft sprocket should be roughly by the locking point.

    Hi
    You do not need to lock the flywheel etc
    Just lock cam shaft
    It’s very easy 45 mints job
    You do not need open manifold etc

    • @wawayltd
      @wawayltd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How will you align camshaft with crankshaft without locking?
      It may work, it's not a great shortcut, after couple changes it may end up misaligned.
