Hi, sorry I didn't catch your name but I wanted to express my gratitude for your excellent tutorial. I literally completed this maintenance routine this weekend step-by-step with pausing at each stage (took me 12hrs, with so sticky bolts). Perfect! Absolutely perfect description with torque settings and really helpful guidance. My S-Max started first time and now much more confident in 60'000miles time to do it again! Thank you so much! Pete.
I've done the cambelts on my VW and my old Civic and now I can do my C-Max. Great video, all the information you need. 10/10 *Edit, If you warm the crankshaft bolt with a heat gun for about 4 mins it softens the threadlock ;)
Thank you for the excellent video. I successfully replaced the cambelt on my 2005 Volvo V50 2.0d using your video as reference. The base engine is indeed the same, but there were some minor differences. On the Ford, the cambelt tensioner has the stud bolt, but on the Volvo it's just a normal hex bolt. The magnetic timing ring on the crank was different, too - on the Volvo the timing ring has to be pressed out of the crank end with the help of two jack bolts. Can't remember if there was anything else. Despite these differences this video is, for all intents and purposes, the most helpful. Thanks again!

Lock crankshaft first, then if camshaft pin can't be fitted - take the belt off and turn camshaft slightly, whichever way it needs to be turned, to fit the pin. Obviously don't do the full turn, but you won't be able to anyway, because of the valves. I think I've explained that in the video

You do not need to lock the flywheel etc
Just lock cam shaft
It’s very easy 45 mints job
You do not need open manifold etc
How will you align camshaft with crankshaft without locking?
It may work, it's not a great shortcut, after couple changes it may end up misaligned.
