There is a group of several rock-cut Buddha caves, carved around 5th century AD known as Lonad Caves. It is located near Janwal Village, Kalyan.
Chaitya is one of the most interesting structures. It has obtained certain fame due to the beautiful, interesting stone carvings.
Temple consists of the double verandah, hall, and unfinished shrine.
It contains later images of Khandeshvari and Mahishasura Mardini.
