I'm trying to get my wheel off my suspension because i got 19inch rims instead of 17 inch stock rims. Would it be a good idea if I double stack 1.25 inch spacers and is there a safe way to go about it???
Great video Rob, I am actually running spacers (1.5”) since I am still running OEM TRD off road rims and just a bigger tire. I definitely did not feel safe with the length of the wheel stud after the spacer was installed, I think I was getting only about 3 turns worth of thread with OEM lug nuts on the spacer itself. I even got a lug nut that has a taper to be able to get more thread and have a bigger bite, but since the OEM wheel stud still wasn’t going all the way through the new tapered lug nut by at least 3 threads excess I still didn’t feel safe. What I ended up doing to have peace of mind is installing new longer wheel studs all the way around and cutting them to size. In combination with the tapered lug nut I now feel safe to ride with me and my family . I did this about 20k ago and they are still holding strong 💪
Do not use wheel spacers. They KILLED my friends daughter. Back in 2010 she was driving on the QEW highway near Toronto Canada, the back tire of a pick-up truck came off and entered the oncoming traffic and killed my friends Daughter Megan instantally. The reason for the tire coming off was eventually traced back to the installation of a wheel spacer on the pick-up truck. Wheel spacers should be outlawed.
Ao the bottom line is you didnt not pick the right tire and wheel combo for your truck so u went and bought spacers, which are illegal for on road use and put everyone else's saftey in jeopardy . Great vid. Why dont you just take the batteries out of your smoke detectors, thise dam pesky false alarms

That was AWESOME Rob I think you did a great presentation on explaining spacers for your vehicle 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Glad you liked it
Good job on the video and covering all the questions or instances people use them.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good vid again. I have run 1 inch spacers for two years on my Taco. Like them a lot. No adverse affects
Right on 👍
I just ordered some 1” boras for my 4Runner, but after seeing that totally destroyed bearing on here makes wish I didn’t 😢
Thank you for your response, I'm just trying to tell everyone that there is a high risk of liabiliety.

You made a wise decision to extend the studs👍

@vegasgamerz5086 Just trying to let people know that there is a high risk of liability when you modify your wheel.
The wheel spacers did not kill her the person who installed them incorrectly and did not maintain them did
