“They’re going to move out of the neighborhood, or they are going to die.” Skip said that in the last few seconds of the video. I love how brutally honest he is!!!

Very insightful. You really tell it like it is. We’ve lived in a small development in your favorite state (CA) since the 90’s. Can count original owners on one hand. Thank you for your hard work.

We sold our home in Florida because we felt isolated with no family. A lot of people keep to themselves and every time you needed something fixed people would try to take advantage of you because you were a senior. That is if you could get anyone . We decided to just rent for a couple of weeks.

@@TheVillagesSkipSmith as a 4th gen Floridian, how do you / they leave your family for that long and afford 2 residences. Great Grandma was born in Pedro / Belleville in 1800s. Went to Penn Yann NY on lake to escape heat during the summer for bit for the last few years but could never abandon my family. Love it up there, drove slow in fast-lane LOL. Can you imagine the uproar if they built the Villages there. Get over the cold, jeez...I worked in Wyoming so I know much colder.

Beautiful neighborhood. My home was built in 1964 and we are the second owners. That is quite common in the New Orleans area. Most people here live within blocks of their families and never move. Your first reason is probably the most common. Our friend who works in sales office says: People want to live on golf course. “They mow to early and it’s noisy, let’s get a house on the preserve”. Months later. “ there’s too many bugs, let’s move again”. When we moved in in 2013, we bought CV as only part time. Our kids and grandkids visit more than we ever expected. Moved in 2021 to larger house with more room. We only move 1 mile from our old house because we are still close to our old neighbors. New neighbors have welcomed us with open arms. We are still pt time, most of our neighbors full time. Great video. By the way, when we moved in we called Hillsborough land - The Sahara Desert

Bought a new house in De Luna so I could get a new veranda. Bought new because my last two homes I had to put so much time energy and work into. Yes I've already thought about what I can do to this home to make it mine. But I don't actually feel the need to at this point except for painting. I looked at many homes that had all the upgrades already. But they were older and I knew what would happen in a couple years as far as needing upgrades. So for now I'm quite satisfied. My dogs love their backyard. The upkeep is far less than my last house. Okay I am thinking about a pool. Could I be closer to one of the squares? Yeah that might be nice. But maybe not.

Skip you hit the nail on the head about why people move. My friend is a mortgage lender at a credit union up here. She recently told me that they don’t do 30 year fixed mortgages because supposedly people don’t want them . they do 10 year arm loans . She said the average person moves in very 7 years and either redo the arm loan or purchase a new place. I really wonder with the higher princess if that is going to be still true
