      Looks like you'd still be able to all those activities there - even if the occasional rocket launches from the other side of the hills.

    Another super vid. Lovely shots with the drone, the hills look best I think at this time of the year, before some of them go brown. Also less traffic around NZ holiday spots, something I am really appreciating myself.

      Yeah. Less traffic is always a good thing. I generally go into hibernation when the holidays start.

    I don't ride any more, but I love following along on your rides, and have done a few in my 4x4 ute. Great video!

      Thanks mate. I think the ute would be a much more sensible option a lot of the time. Especially when the weather is uncooperative.

      It's easy to take this place for granted.

      It's a popular spot during the summer holidays.

    Visions of you coming across a Rocketlab transporter along that road. Looks like they'd be using the east side of the peninsula though.

      Haha. Yes, the road on the other side is sealed. I wonder if they actually bring the gear in by helicopter.

    Have you had a chance to ride the 2024 RP, just for a compare

      Unfortunately not. None of the motorbike dealers nearby have anything like that. It'd be interesting to see how much has changed in a year.

    A request for access might do the trick? All my requests for access to private land with plenty of lead time have been successful. Requests on the day are usually not so well received.

    • @theNZbv
      @theNZbv  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah. I'm not very good at planning ahead of time. How do you find out where the private land is, and who to contact?

      @@theNZbv I had a look for Kinikini Station Ltd in the NZ Companies Office, there are a couple of directors listed in Hastings and Napier. Satellite images of the southern end of the peninsula show the Rocket Lab launch site. Pennies to pounds that is why the access is restricted. It may be a little more difficult to get access than I first imagined.

      Getting permission to ride down to the rocket lab launch site is on my bucket list.

      @@theNZbv Do you know why my answer to your question "How do you find out where..." got deleted?

    • @theNZbv
      @theNZbv  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have no idea. I can see your reply about looking for Kinikini Station in the companies register, but the only message with "How do you find out where..." is the one I replied to you with. There aren't any messages that are "held for review (which happens if you post links to other sites). I'll keep an eye out for it just in case it took the scenic route.
