Thank you for telling me. I'm already having a bad enough summer semester not being able to afford books. And I just wasted my time with Niche scholarships I'll obviously never win. I'm having the WORST luck, but thank you for telling me all this.

I will not give up even though I apply for many scholarships online and yet not successful i will continue to look for any opportunity i can get, thank you this was helpful
Does your school bkstore have bk rentals? My daughter rented four of her bks and pd 18$, 20$ etc. My bks in '92 were 90$ but that game has changed. I know it's beside the pt but might help
God sent! everything she said I've faced, I've been looking for scholarships ever since my freshman year an I honestly KNOW& FEEL that If I use the information she gives I'll win at least one. I been through so many "scholarship" scams that sold my email to so many college and other websites its annoying. ( new subscribers+)
Wow!! I’m so sad that my son’s high school counselor didn’t share many of these local scholarships with him. We’re relatively new to the community and I know of some that have been awarded but some we didn’t even know about. He starts college in the fall and we’re still searching for scholarship money. 😢
@libbyself tell your son to go to financial aid in college ans ask them about the many scholarships they have and don't tel unless students ask for them. My daughter learned about it when she worked with Financial aid at her college.
After being in college for 2 years now, I wanted to come back to your video and say thank you! Your advice actually helped (versus other sources I've seen). I've earned over $3000 in scholarships simply by applying to scholarships in my area. $3000 doesn't sound like a lot but that is my full tuition for two semesters. I feel like everyone in high school should watch this video because it truly is the best advice on TH-cam.
I appreciate your help. I googled "New York community foundation scholarships" and I didn't really see much. To be honest, it's extremely overwhelming. My son is currently a Junior who has an IEP, which concerns me. Aside from that, I'm a single mom. His father passed away in 2020. So we would definitely benefit from scholarships. His school College counselor hasn't been as helpful which is extremely stressful. She started to talk about community college and that is not the route we want to go. It's been very frustrating.
I have a hard time believing there are any scholarships for the average kid. My oldest is currently a college sophomore and we are paying almost 100% full price. She received a small merit scholarship of $2000 a year for her grades/ACT and gets $200/yr from her department. The only financial aid given from the government was a small work-study and loans. She applied for numerous legit scholarships - ones that required essays, videos, original art/poetry, recommendations, the works and yielded nothing. I honestly believe that if you are not a super genius, super talented, or have some rare quality. There are no scholarships for you. The average kid from a family with an average income will pay loans until they die.
Hey Nancy, Sorry to hear this! Has your daughter ever had her materials reviewed by a professional with experience in the field? You may be able to find some recurring themes throughout that could be affecting her results. We offer essay reviews through The Scholarship System. I also have some other videos with essay tips!
I’m glad someone said it. All these so called scholarships are complete bullshit coming from a 2nd year college student whose been applying since his sophomore year and hasn’t won one whether it essays or raffles
Pessimism has a way of becoming your reality... nothing special about me and through some optimistic actions [writing simple essays based on prompts] ive been able to win a few scholarships over time some years ago. Im back to continue edu...
My daughter found herself many scholarships when she started college. She received up to $34k in scholarships with her 4.1 GPA from HS and kept it through her first year of college by keeping her GPA until COVID happened and everything went online. she is a hand on and visual learner and it became really hard for her and her GPA dropped to 3.80. Still kept some of the scholarships though. We didn't pay a dime out of pocket and she received enough money for herself to save.
You are amazing and thank you so much ! I found local scholarships in my county that I would have never found if it weren't for you . Again , Thank you .
Thank you so much for this video. My oldest will be a junior in high school for the upcoming school year , and lately it's been very challenging trying to win a "no-essay" Scholarship and now I know why. Today, I'm activating her membership to join Honor Society so we can start applying for scholarships through their organization. I've also found some that we can apply for that the actual state offers and the school district as well. I'm going to browse around to see if our city offers some as well. This is a long road, so legitimate information will help.
My son is still in high school and attends a private Christian school in the next county over from where we reside. When looking for local scholarships, I’m noticing most require him to be in attendance at our city high school. Then, when I google the local foundation scholarships in the county he goes to school, it often states he needs to be a resident of that county or attend their public school. Any insights? Thank you!
We specialize in working with US students. There are scholarships available for international students, they are just less common. Since this is not our market, we don't want people to be upset if what we share doesn't help in their situation. Until we can put more time into looking into it, we can't back the fact that the tips we share will definitely work for you but they *may* help.
Oh man, wished I seen your videos before I mass applied to tons of "easy scholarships". Now I'm stuck un-subscribing and deleting emails. I plan on trying to find some local ones now though I think I aplied to most of them now.

Hi! Thanks for all the helpful tips. I found an essay required scholarship, when I clicked the link, it took me to a scholarship search website, when I clicked “apply”, it ask me to create an account for this scholarship search website. In your opinion, do you think this is a legitimate scholarship?
Many scholarships house their application in various national portals. Therefore, they require that you register and log-in to that portal. You could try and find the scholarship application directly from the source and/or organization that sponsors it.

I did! I found a ton of scholarships, and I sorted through them. Although there were a ton of scholarships, I only found 1, but that's still progress.
Yes, they were all for the local community college where I am not enrolled.
