@@niknurulsyafiqa4474 A bit late, but if you mean to ask if a road needs to be closed to build one, then not always. Yay! Significant improvement in your music choices! I love the monorail. I feel it gives Verde Beach a futuristic/tourist vibe. Cable cars have the advantage that they easily go up and over bridges and other obstructions that were giving your monorail trouble.

As a Tennessean who's used to roads being placed through limestone cuts everywhere, I do wish you'd get over your dislike of having cuts in game, as they are very realistic... I think it was so bad 😂 the monorail line itself was okay, but the fact that he didn't build ANY station near enough to a metro or train station to have a good transfer is just stupid. He has no idea what he's is doing
@@nicolasblume1046 well he was specifically targeting tourists entering the city. That isn’t necessarily unparalleled in the real world. For instance, the last time I was in Tokyo I took a Narita express train directly from the airport to Tokyo’s main train terminal downtown. That service was clearly targeted at making travel to the distant airport easier by skipping several stations along the way. Now what city planner plays did was different, but it’s not unheard of to have a dedicated tourist oriented system that is only lightly integrated into the local transit network. Remember his monorail does service the airport, a Harbor and the main Train junction downtown. Not everyone arriving into Verde beach has Verde beach as their final destination as well, it’s an express link between the international airport and trains throughout the region. It also offers convenient stops for tourists and relieves the already heavily used local trams and busses. I’m not sure it’s such a bad idea.
I have also now used the plateau tool in my city to make some nice sunken interchanges... that thing is a life changer. I think, now that you unlocked whatever thing with the cemeteries, you should go back through the city and empty/remove them as needed. That huge blaze in the city tour... you troll, you... omg! LOL
Using that tool is a game changer! I love it! I completely agree with the cemeteries. I'll be sure to look into that at the end of the transit episodes. Re blaze....
First, nice to see the burning trees in the city tour. Wouldn't be Verde Beach without a fire somewhere. The local arsonist was evidently very excited by the addition of a monorail. Second, the far end of the monorail on the opposite side of the city from the airport is a stub that could easily be set aside for future expansion of the monorail line across the river whenever you decide to expand the city to the opposite side of the river. The line could use the islands in the river as stepping stones to cross it. Now, you just need to expand the city in that direction... Great video has always. See you in the next one.
I was thinking it's been nice the past couple episodes with no big fires but then 54:19 came around and I realized that no, passing a city block on fire while riding the monorail is the funniest thing that could happen.

Another tip for spanning large roads is that if you draw at ground level until it turns red and once it turns red you raise the elevation, it'll turn blue and the pillar will be as close as possible. It's helpful for spanning 6 lane roads especially. So, start unconnected and move the would-be first node right until it turns red. Raise the elevation, til it's blue and place the starting node. Drag across until the same thing happens and your 2 pillars will be as close to the road as possible. Then connect the bridge on both ends to wherever it's going.
Great work on the monorail, can't help but notice a few packed cemeteries that desperately need emptying if you want to avoid leaving a bunch of corpses in their homes.
Ahhh, monorail makes me nostalgic for Disneyworld! And for the true Verde Beach experience, you've left a few fire hazards with branches poking onto the tracks just to make sure tourists get up close and personal with this city's most lit attractions ;P
Quick side note: though often true, maglevs aren't always monorails, or vice versa. Most monorails aren't maglevs, and some maglevs (ie. SCMaglev) aren't monorails.
30:00 - I feel you on the rezoning. When I was working in the planning department, I discovered a bunch of previously annexed parcels didn't receive the required city zoning when they came in. We had to do a messy mass rezoning which raised a whole lot of questions for something that was just administrative bookkeeping.
The monorail looks great! It was put in place surprisingly smoothly, considering the terrain. I'm mildly disappointed that you didn't make the line colour purple and name it "The Purple People Mover", though...
1:17 I feel like there needs to be a song about a monorail at this point, something broadway-esque that gets all of Verde Beach hyped up in support of it.
The long distances between monorail stations [though I miss a stop closer to the central station] might be a method to create a higher priority of the monorail - even above the metro - in the multi-tier transit system. Using four-platform and bypass- metro stations to introduce local and express lines could have been even more effective and would have avoided cannibalizing. But I'm really looking forward to upcoming transit episodes to see a well connected and well prioritized system surfacing. I don't miss the demolished part of the tram system at all - it will have a comeback as a medium priority mode of transport giving great access to the high priority network. PS: If you expand Kellerhouse Line to the airport and connect the branches served by only one line with a new service you can have a "Lewis Hamilton Line" ... :-)
For a while i thought am i watching verde beach? then i saw the fire at the end and was like yep this is verde beach. Otherwise monorails seem to offer strong mobility like transit highways with high capacity over long distances. It seems more logical than overstretched metro lines that send workers from the suburbs to the inner cities and downtown office spaces.
Once u finish all the transit oriented episodes, I’d really like to see u do a few episodes where u revisit old areas, the original Verde Beach. I’d imagine as the city starts investing so much capital into expansions, highway overhauls, better transit, bringing in more tourists, that places like Old Town, Founders Park, Lewis Lumber company are going to look for ways to renovate and reinvigorate. I live in Orlando, and places like Winter Park, Winter Garden, Kissimmee, Celebration go through all kinds of changes as the theme parks expand to make things more appealing for tourists or new home buyers.
Really great video, one small note is that the monorail station with tracks creates a traffic node on each side I find they tend to interrupt traffic flow a bit and work better when theyre right against an intersection rather than a few cells off and connected by a short piece of rebuilt road
Miami's monorail has very sudden, steep elevation changes and actually goes VERY high to cross the river, so it wouldn't be crazy to have gone directly over those train tracks at the airport. And the stops are like two blocks apart lol
Coming from Seattle the monorail is a must for tourism since its construction for the ‘62 World’s Fair. There is even a wonderful asset in the Workshop for the original Alweg monorail.
Wow! jut discovered this series and your TH-cam channel. I love the careful consideration of how your roads work, unlike other similar youubers who would just use anarchy and mods
Amazing episode! VB is really starting to get some international allure. Might I suggest clearing the trees in the monorails path? I feel bad for those tourists and students :p
I only wish you hadn’t jumped off the first person monorail right before we hit the downtown area with all the unique buildings. Love your work! Would really like a series in the same vein as 5b1c but done all by yourself where you start with several/many spread out tiny communities all over the map and slowly integrate them. Give is a better idea how smaller rural areas become urban meccas.
You don't have to back off when trying to place a monorail station at an intersection. The issue is that the model for the station only respects 2 lane street intersections. Just pause and temporarily downgrade the 4 or 6 lane cross street to a two lane cross street. Then place the monorail station. Once it is placed, upgrade your 2 lane cross street back to a 4 or 6 lane cross street.

Love the outro with 'usual service' resuming nicely. Top editing by the way!
The hottest place to be right now. VB, The Sizzling City.
this map is so good looking. it really is easy to take this game for granted, it's something special
70% here because I love the way you talk about Cities Skylines, 30% for the way you laugh. You make me feel less alone, thank you
And the day became so much better now 😁
Just want to thank you... “cognisant” “eminent domain” and “topography” are now regular words in my vocabulary 🤓👌🏾
The start of a full transit examination? Oh yes please..... I never knew I needed something so badly.
54:18 What a great place to watch the famous Verde Beach eternal fire from above (monorail station)
I have been feenin for a transit video on Verde beach. Those buses and trams networks need a major overhaul. Can’t wait to see what develops.
You're like the damn Bob Ross of Cities Skylines and I love it. Keep up the amazing content!
Oh My --- I must have missed the episode on naming the nature reserve. "Burning Palms Nat. Forest" --- Spot on idea. --- BRILLIANT --
I cried at 6:22 ... that beautiful corner facing building!
Great job! Damn, this video proves me that I can't live anymore without addons, it makes the building process so easier.
I miss City Skylines! Thank you for the memories :)
Wow! jut discovered this series and your TH-cam channel. I love the careful consideration of how your roads work, unlike other similar youubers who would just use anarchy and mods
Mulligan bea…I mean Verde beach is my favorite City skylines build on TH-cam
Great vid! The round about in front of the airport is going in a figure 8. There are weird crossings there.
It’s a sad and exciting day I am finally but sadly caught up with Verde Beach. Been binge watching the entire series for the past month.
I love how theres a casual fire during the tour and the citizens dont care
The struggles of trying to nicely align your tracks/roads from @10:50 to 14:25 was too relatable lol
Glad to be back in sunny Verde Beach!
The fire in the city tour was great
54:20 You can never get enough of that
would it even be VB without the city burning down in the montage
