Thanks for the video - you're just shy of doing 31 mpg over that leg... also, I last took the ferry over 2 years back and the car was thoroughly searched, even though we had a toddler in the back...
Chips and Curry Sauce I know my Friend!! Experiencing welding issues.... trying to get a plan together given the season is ‘sort of over’ Anyway other than that ‘she’ is spot on # can’t let her go
I drive from Manchester to Paris -est at least 4 times every year - I usual fuel full tank 70LT for Chevy orlando and I also fuel again in dover about £30 then I drive to Paris from calais plus at least 2 days of driving around Paris before I refuel , however I spend £190 of fuel for a full trip go and come back for 7-8 days every time. It is cheaper to take Ryan air but I enjoy being 6 of us how much we do save - train- metro bus etc
We are taking the ferry tomorrow morning and though we should prepare ourselves mentally 😂😂This video was so funny, really enjoyed it. Thank you Darren!
What documents do I need to travel to France (non essential) as a UK citizen , I heard I would need is proof of health insurance and proof of accomodation and proof of sufficient funds for the stay. But then I also heard that u can't travel to Europe both in 2020 and 2021 if it's not essential travel . So yh 😬😬
yes, turn your car alarm off whilst its parked on the ferry, also take your own food / packed lunch for the trip as the food isn’t great on board plus expensive!
I was hoping to use my road trip through france and italy to take some farming tools (including a sickle) there. Would they all be treated as weapons ?
@@tubedarren haha i can't wait for e-Transporters to come out. If you're interested Darren there is a channel on YT who are coverting a new T6 with a Tesla drivetrain. I'm following 👍
Hey mate not so sure, this is my first transporter, I have heard good and bad things about all of the different engines. However, for me personally I like to do my research until I fall asleep and brainwash myself so much that it helps me make a descision 😂✅👏🏼
@Povilas Kuznecovas I'm looking at a low mileage 08 T5 1.9tdi autosleeper camper tomorrow but I have been offered a 09 174bhp California with 1 owner fsh 40k miles but I am nervous about the engine..can be lot of problems with valve seals, driveshafts, waterpump etc etc
Loving the road trip videos, looking forward to following you to the surprise destination! Safe travels
Cheers Chris you’ll enjoy it when I make it there mate 👍👌🏼

@12:48 it won’t leak it’s 40m below the sea bed, it’s way below the actual sea water to get leaks from the water
Haha thanks Jarred I watched a documentary on it once , ps I weren’t actually being serious 😆 😂
How good was that smile to get onto the earlier ferry? Haha
People did use to do the ferry run over to calais, just to top up on beer and cigs.
Darren I’ve really enjoyed your recent vlog , love the Van I’ve a T3! and love French travel, keep up the good work Buddy🍺
Cheers Richee, appreciate it mate , I’m not doing France on this trip but maybe when restrictions ease I’ll give it a go 👍

What documents is needed to travel with a vehicle from Dover port to Calais port? Thank you!
They don't check any documents at port only passport but you need to take insurance certificate and v5 log book in case french police stop you
So any one can go on top where this telescope was or you need club class ticket for that ?

@@tubedarren i wasn't expecting you to know mate.
'Do you have any weapons' could mean a pitchfork and shovel to them. Love your videos.
Do you have to leave your vehicle when the ferry is moving? This video helped a lot!
Yes I believe so!
Really looking forward to this.
All the best Darren 👍

Alright mate what do you reckon to the 1.9tdi 102bhp lump in a T5 campervan? More reliable than the 2.5 ??
