The impressive thing about him is that you can request nearly anything and he'll know it. If he doesn't he's got perfect pitch and can imitate it instantaneously.
He has stated in videos he has “relative pitch” not perfect pitch You have to be born with perfect pitch but the dooo has been playing and studying music theory for over 13 years and it allowed him to develop a near perfect relative pitch Only saying it to give him the credit he deserves He wasn’t born with the skill he developed it through intense practice and dedication
@@prometheus2881 You're very close but there are some common misconceptions, Perfect Pitch (Or more accurately Absolute Pitch) isn't something you're necessarily born with, however most people develop it in their early adolescence and formative years. Very rarely is it seen develop in teenagers or older. But you are correct, TheDooo has previously stated he has relative pitch not perfect pitch. To the OP, essentially if he can figure out what key and chord he's supposed to be playing in he can piece it together from there, he just has it developed to a super high degree.
@@Shippuuryu yea that is correct many studies have gone into perfect pitch and have concluded that one with enough training can obtain perfect pitch cause their brain just adapts to it although the speed at which people pick up this skill is different some pick it up early childhood some won't be able to until they are adults.
i like watching thedoo get song requests for songs he has never heard of and him playing it perfect back on guitar. having perfect pitch is pretty cool
The Dooo has what is called perfect pitch, so he can exactly reproduce down to the note on piano and guitar. I also highly recommend Frank Tedesco who does something similar with piano on youtube, but has relative pitch, meaning he needs a comparable reference note. He's some kind of video game composer, so he can do on-the-spot sound effects plus play pretty much any video game song.
@@user-tb2jy9lu3d he says that for the memes Even in the video where he flexes his “perfect” pitch he has it in quotations because he doesn’t have it just an extremely fine tuned sense of relative pitch He has a whole video that talks about how you have to be born with perfect pitch and how he’s practice music and studies music theory for over 13 years now and used that experience to develop his sense of relative pitch Yeah he’s a gifted musician but you gotta give the man credit where credit is due He’s as good as he is not because he was born with a perfect pitch but because of hard work and dedication
@@prometheus2881 That's cool, thanks for the info. Haven't seen that video yet. That gives me hope as a former on-and-off guitar player of 17 or so years, acoustic and electric. I still felt like I royally sucked after that, but a lot of it was just working too much and not having enough time to practice like I needed.
for reference, the "hardest song" is AC/DC's Thunderstruck, I think he detests the song because it is so unchallenging and every other video someone wants him to play it
He detests the song because in his earlier gaming videos like those from Bo2. Almost every episode someone asked him to play but then simply asking him to play the song became a thing, so much so that in some omegle videos unless he plays it un-ironically he'll skip the person who asked. Your comment is an example of that (an example of him playing It but making it sound terrible on purpose), another exception was on the Ghost Face video he put out for Halloween where the guy asked to play and Eric replied, "OH.. Now I'm gonna kill you, I'm gonna kill you for sure now!"
I'm just saying we need more of these reaction of TheDoo!
You need to do another one of these, you didn't get to see his most impressive skill
The doo has been playing guitar for like 15-16 years
15 at this point he's 27

He has been playing guitar since 2007 so... 14, almost 15 years. He's only 25 or 26 i think.
He's been playing guitar for 14 years, he started young playing violin. He has a very extensive knowledge of Music theory.
in one of the videos this year he stated it was 16 years :)
@@StMargorach He actually said 12 but he is in fact 27 years old

He’s gone on record that he only has relative pitch not perfect

The Dooo is under contract with Sony that’s why he doesn’t show his face

I mean u were only a few years off on the thousand weeks comment tbf.
React to The Entire History of the World I guess.
Search his covers where he sings, bring kleenex
🙂👍
Sadly, I think he can make more money on TH-cam than playing gigs.
maybe he can earn a good amount from gigs if he does them, considering the huge fan following he has amassed now.
