I have always loved Cobalts design style, it looks like they raided the armory of the Enterprise or Defiant. I'm not a big fan of shells and the extras that they entail. With that said, Spyr's Yeethammer, a breech loading, shell ejecting, bolt action, Mega XL blaster has really captured my interest.
Kind of an extreme measure, but... Have you considered simply gluing the shells into the cylinder? Obviously, you'd then have to swap the whole cylinder to change ammo type/ammo mix, but you'd have the sort of front-load cylinder setup you mentioned. You could also swap back to a "regular" cylinder at will. Of course, all this would require having a number of cylinders available. (Bulk and $$$.) The potential problem I can see is how the shells look to seat a bit back from the front of the cylinder, possibly slowing on-the-fly front-loading a bit. (They look like they're a bit back from the front, at least.) (Others have probably already though of this, but I didn't see it mentioned here, so...) In any case, it's a nifty-looking blaster.
If I had unlimited money for blasters one of the first things I would do is buy one of each of cobalt designs blasters, I just love to look at them.
100%
100%
They're working on a brushless blaster now, and I'm sorely tempted
Yo new Alien Menace blaster dropped
I do miss the alien menace line
Cobalt's stuff is the shit! Love it!
I definitely gotta try that one of these days
Great video. This thing looks awesome. I would love to get a Cobalt Designs blaster someday.
