@@keystone6162 You missed the point. Pundits can't bang on constantly about Southgate not being decisive and making the big calls then pu55y out of making one when it's their turn to not make the call, but just offer an opinion.
Also people will go crazy regardless, you play your best team, rather than playing the big names, even if they're out of position.

Not too lazy. That's unfair. But he has lost his pace and some endurance, which means his positioning needs to be 100%, but it isn't. It's far from it.

Saka proved today why he is in this team. Scores the goal that keeps us in the tournament then switches to LB to do a job there also in extra time. He's been far from his best this tournament but he proved today why he is more valuable than Foden who has done hardly anything.

He was piss poor but did win the ball back in the press fairly well. Give him the 1st half v the dutch as a last chance for him. Hard for him to create when he has no movement from his number 9
100% agree, Kane is one of the best players on earth, and thats exactly the reason why its painfully obvious that he isnt 100% fit and shouldnt be on the pitch, he's a non threat moving forwards which puts so much pressure on the wingers as the defenders barely even need to mark him. Honestly dont know what Watkins has done to not earn any minutes after the season he had.

Give Watkins a chance he will get in behind and make runs from deep , whereas Kane looks to have regressed the further we have gone into the tournament
England need a striker who can run in behind and run into the channels, it will lead to some improvement in the team performance.

As a Liverpool fan Southgate needs to drop Kane against the Netherlands. Virgil has the drop on Kane and always has in the champions league final and the premiership every season. Toney is a different story against Virgil.

The types of goals scored determines who goes off. Bellingham is still fighting in 100th minute whereas Kane shows no fight on minute 10.
Ollie Watkins looked ok in the first game after he comes on for kane. He instantly had the pace to get in behind. Since then he hasn't played, it seems Southgate doesn't want any competition for kane
Harry Kane doesn't look fit at all. England needs someone running behind. In fact what's required is a forward who is running period!

Kane must be carrying an injury, if his not his international career is over., His been very poor. Foden actually ran around him at one point to close a player down and Kane didn’t move.
Alf Ramsey had the same problem with Jimmy Greaves,it was unheard of to leave him out if fit,but he stuck with Geoff Hurst and we know the rest

Because he thrives in a well oiled team that plays to his strengths and compliments him well. Pull him out of that and drop him out of his comfort zone and it shows his limitations as a player. Great player on his day but very overrated.
The problem is that he offers nothing else outside of the game we see for city. He can slither his way through a crowd of 5 plp but cannot beat a man on the wing 1x1. He didn’t try it in 4 games. Why? He didn’t try to swing over crosses outside of a dead ball. He’s not defensive enough to drop in as an 8. He should ride the bench and come on in the 75th minute if needed.

Lads, i wanted Toney on, Kane play just behind, at 60mins. Foden again is totally ineffective. Foden has now 39 caps 4 Goals. Thats poor, He doe's not produce he's M/City form in an England team. I would start Toney and Kane behind in the semi-final.

Problem with Kane was he wasn't pressing and he wasn't really effective at tracking back and he wasn't in the position for chances he should have been. The question then is what is he on the pitch for? You seen when Toney came in he at least pressed the defence and forced them to make the pass. Kane needs to be dropped ASAP.

Well no, Toney is a guarantee goal for penalties playing him just to sub him is dumb. Watkins should start and then Toney shluld be subbed on whenever.
@@Disinfo321 The point is Kane and Bellingham need to be rotated. Toney is being brought on to give the team legs. There are a lot of good penalty takers apart from Toney. Any other manager would have started Toney and/or Watkins in one of the group games to rotate Kane. Both are more effective at the moment than Kane in the system England are playing.
@@MyHarrietHarper No Kane should not be playing realistically. But taking Toney off when he's a guaranteed goal in penalties is asinine. If anything Watkins should start and then toney brought on. OR worst case start Kane then sub him for Toney.
Whether or not he's good penalty takers or not doesn't matter, he's the best one and penalties can go past the first 5.

You don’t drop England’s top scorer. Even if he didn’t score yesterday, he is still the player most likely to score for us, and he strikes fear into opponents. They would much rather see another name on the team sheet than his I’m quite sure. Not only that, but he also links the play really well (playing like a 10 as well as a 9) and takes the knocks like a proper captain.
Palmer should be in, Shaw has to start next game and we have to drop Kane, he is way off it and actually hindering us! I would start Toney as we need a hold up!

People might hate me, but it's not Kane fault. It's just the nature of the tactic England decide to play. As a matter of fact, most teams decided to play such. Kane is there to stretch the opponent make space for the playmakers and "if" the chance comes finish it (which he did in the last game). The same phenomenon will happen if Toney starts, Toney might have looked better but that's because the game plan changed when he came in.
I mean he definitely needs to do more, minimal pressing and no movement in the box. I do agree though, the tactics/playstyle don't suit him. So either drop him or adjust the team/tactics to suit him
If you watched him, it definitely is his fault. Nothing to do with tactics when he just completely refused to do anything. Walked around the pitch even when players were making crosses he didn't even run into the box.

Not an England fan but dropping Kane isn’t going to suddenly change England’s fortunes. There are multiple problems right across the team. Kane dropping deep doesn’t help. Neither does Rice or Bellingham having no positional awareness off the ball. Saka to his credit had a good game yesterday but has mostly been invisible this tournament, as has Foden. There’s also little to no creativity in the team, even when Palmer, probably the most creative player in the team after Kane when he drops deep, comes on.
The media have been after Kane after they drove Maguire out of the team. Kane should get more service not the other way around.

Of course you start him but if he is offering nothing then dont hesitate to sub him off and bring on Watkins who can at least run in behind and cause havoc. Toney offers what the team needs better than Kane currently, if we just needed Kane to be on the end of good movements where he was finishing then yeah Kane is the best finisher in the team, but England don't look like they have a set way of playing. They don't look like they have set movements like if Jude gets the ball on the corner of the box, Kane movement the quick movement to the back post for example for an inswinger, but nothing like that is happening. Toney can offer the hold up play, the nod downs and is a decent finisher too
Maybe if you had two strikers with a back three and people putting in decent cutbacks and crosses then Kane + Watkins together but I don't think the style is helping Kane at all, and he's not helping the team that much either
I feel like we’d be a totally different team if Watkins was playing instead. His ability to run behind the defenders, his speed etc.. It gives us a proper striker option.
With Kane atm, it feels like we are always playing with 10 men and no striker. It’s no wonder we never slip a through ball through, it’s no wonder we don’t pass forward enough.
If we had a player who was stretching the defence and making runs in behind, we’d likely create more.
