Brilliant Glen. Fantastic video on when to use the bounce and when not to when chipping. So many other videos on chipping say bounce is your friend when chipping but rarely bother to tell you it can also be your enemy. Thanks again Glen. Cheers Joe
Thank you Wayne. Mmm, will have to create a video on chipping from thick rough! Generally, the ball will be sitting down more, so shaft forward and a steeper angle of approach.
Good stuff Glen - would just say that you need to be very accurate when aiming to make good contact on tight lies and hard ground. In the semi rough using bounce is fine when you have a few yards between you and the flag, but where I get problems is when its just a short distance and a putter won't work; even more difficult when its going down hill away from you on the green.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Ray. Agree, tight lies can be challenging and require precision, especially into the grain! However, when chipping from the rough, you have the option of opening the clubface with less risk. You can still achieve a soft landing when chipping from the rough. #softhands
Thank you Anthony. I am slightly open but this is a personal preference, probably because of tight hips. You don’t need to be open. As long as the swing path isn’t in-to-out (draw). Cheers

Thanks Joe. Another example of functionality over methodology.
Awesome Glen, thanks for the demonstration. I still have issues with thick rough. Should I use this for that?

Great video our you slightly open? And if so did you just slightly rotate your left foot towards the target or pull it straight back from target line
