Making a Bass Lure From a Wine Cork

  • Making fishing lures from wine corks is a fun way to get into lure making if that's something you're into. By no means do I have any formal education on this, I've simply watched others do it and gave it a shot. I have made several others in the past, and the popper is one I keep coming back to. I hope you enjoy watching the process and maybe you could give something like this a shot too!

    You got me all excited after watching this! I used what I had on hand. I painted them up with testers, paint and nail polish. Then clear coated with varnish. They look like fish and frogs with red mouths. I didn’t have any wire so I use 250 pound monofilament and crimped both ends. I also had some rubber skirts that I made for my spinner and buzzer baits that I added on the rear ends of them. They will definitely get hammered by fish!

    There's a big bass somewhere watching this video drooling, just waiting for June 20th.... Great video and lure!

    That will certainly catch fish. I love the lead weight you placed. Provides a great action.

    That mug, has one of the best lines on a mug I've seen... I donno how I made it 32 years and never heard that joke before... lmfao. Cool video as a whole too, the lack of talking is interesting.. you make cool content!
    Edit: just now saw the ASMR hashtag, 1 second after I posted this... makes sense your not talking lol..

    I can almost see this as becoming a mini popping cork for freshwater.

    Good video really enjoyed it. Though the audio not matching up was difficult. Otherwise really good!

      Thank you! I don't know why the audio and video became out of sync. It never used to be like that but somehow over time that happened. I have a new channel now called Paddleheads, uploading weekly videos if you're interested. Thanks!

      I gave the lure away as a gift to Ben from Conjuring Rock. I told him to get a photo when he catches something on it. Thanks for watching!

    I was wondering what gage wire is that you are using?

    • @QuietWildernessFishing
      @QuietWildernessFishing  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question! I don't recall. It's not too thick, but not to thin... 😂 Just right.

    Great video. Where do you get your wire?

    • @QuietWildernessFishing
      @QuietWildernessFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! The steel stainless wire was picked up at Canadian Tire. Comes in a roll and I just cut to size.

    I wonder if you could make a top water rat or mouse that is jointed? Like the Spro rat.

    Nice lure! Can you tell me the materials you used to make it

    • @QuietWildernessFishing
      @QuietWildernessFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wine Cork and stainless steel wire. Paint, split rings, hooks. The skirt is a proper silicone skirt, and the blue wire holding the skirt on is thin copper.

      Didn't promise I would either 😉 just a water test to check action and function. Worked like anyother.
