I graft tropical plants and that is primarily most effective during the summer. Avocado is best grafted during our cooler season. Temperate trees like apples, peaches are grafted when dormant or early spring from what I have seen others do.
A grafted plant is of a known variety that will produce fruit faster and of the same kind. They also will tend to be less aggressive in the growth and can be somewhat dwarfed. Seedlings are faster growing and will take longer to fruit. The fruit quality is unpredictable and the tree could turn out great or terrible. It is like gambling, rolling the dice.

Hi Pepe, thanks for sharing your knowledge in an easy to understand way.
My pleasure. Will be doing a grafting tutorial soon as I have some time. Appreciate your comments.
What time of year can you graft a fruit tree such as an apple pear peach or plum?

How do you deal with scale on Annonas
Mostly horticultural oils will work. Also you can alternate with insecticidal soaps and if that wont do the trick try Axamaz.
