Linda is a true treasure. Her voice has unbelievable power and though she has been sadly afflicted by Parkinson's disease, she will remain as one of the greatest vocalists ever. God bless one of the finest to ever give us such a wonderful gift.
God I wish there was an official recording with great sound quality of Linda singing this song. Why did she never record this for an album? It's ridiculously good. But, then again, everything Linda sings is.

Wow. I love Linda Ronstadt and this voice. Always have. I'm 50 now, in poor health, but throughout my life, especially growing up in the 70's, her voice carried me through the most difficult times and good times. Times are bad now, and I am of a different generation. But this cover is wonderful. Ms. Linda Ronstadt - you have brought me so much pleasure in my life, you have a heartfelt voice, and I thank you for being such a beautiful part of my life. I wish I could express this to you. Our earthen vessels may wear and crack, but our spirits can grow in strength and vigor as time passes. Ms. Ronstadt can only be audience now-hope she truly lets gratitude and affection like yours wash over her as she faces the daily challenges of staring down her disease. Hope you are "somewhere, out there," Jeff, feeling fine today.
Undeniably the greatest female voice of the rock era. Listen to all the covers she and others recorded. You laugh out loud as soon as you hear the song coming from linda's "pipes". Amazing
Great vocalist. Her voice is real clear singing about sorrow. Honest, down to earth, talent and beauty. Linda was a rarity then even more remarkable now.
One person made this comment on the song FILL MY EYES from this IN CONCERT special show: "Linda Ronstadt could sing the phonebook!". My REPLY: "AND IT WOULD BE A HIT!!!"

3 powerful sustains at the end = deep breath, and brow wipe. Never saw her in concert, but I'm floored by her voice & power. I'll bet my bottom dollar if she had sung with the Mormon Tabernacle choir, her voice would still stand out.
Linda was an amazing and pure vocal force of nature. Power, passion, sadness and joy all at once. No wonder the musicians and songwriters surrounded her with respect, love and desire. So much variety but the warmth of Ronstadt's voice and heart are always there. Love this "First Cut is the Deepest". She never put this tune on vinyl but she sure did deliver it LIVE in this rare moment.
My favorite rendition. Linda was to my ears and eyes on a very short list of the finest vocalists to ever stand in front of a microphone. When I first saw her live ...well here I am decades later still thrillin' to the sound of that voice.
Linda could sing anything from hard rock to Tejano to country to pop to light opera to the freakin' phone book. Only saw her live once, early '71 with a great backup band that turned out, soon after, to be the Eagles. Damn. No better singer in our lifetimes.
