- Kpop Club first performance at Franklin High School 2016. Keep in mind we are not professional and just doing this for fun! Enjoy! Positive feed back would be great! The songs we used were: Twice- TT, Jay Park - All I Wanna Do, BTS - Fire.

I see in the comments people are saying the performance had no energy but they did a great job and I wouldn't have the guts to perform in front of the whole school and at least they knew what they were doing most of the time
Tahlia Zerbst Because they really didn't have a lot of energy but yes for performing in front of the freaking school, it was nice to watch. Just today I literally had all my classmates yelling at me just because I wanted us to listen to kpop. So their confidence was good.

I was not expecting it but was pleasantly surprised when Jay Park started playing , that was great !
i was lowkey expecting them to dance to blackpink because their clothes were all black and pink LMAO
it may have not been great but still to have the balls to perform in front of the school is great and sure with more experience they'll get better ya'll don't need to be rude to them just cuz it wasn't perfect at least they had fun. I sure as hell wouldn't have to guts to dance in front of people so ya'll did great ❤ don't let the negative comments get to you 😊 great choice on picking Jay Park too ❤ 😀 don't see many people dance to his music at school rallys. Also during the Fire part alot of people got hyped lol I think they liked the beatdrop 😂

Wow that takes so much courage to do and I think you did great for beginners! I loved that you guys put in Jay Park as well! Also it was awesome to see some people low-key bopping to BTS. I think this is such a great way to introduce kpop to a wider audience. Props to you guys! :)

You did a great job! It takes a lot of courage to perform in front of your school like that and everyone looked like they had fun! TBH after this experience alone I don't doubt you will all improve as performers! I like the change in dynamic when you danced 'All I Wanna Do'! And covering different genres of kpop was a great idea! It made the performance such an enjoyable experience! I hope to see more covers from you all!!!

I was thinking of doing a kpop cover for my middle school's talent show in the end of the school year, but idk how to dance and it would be scary to dance by myself, since I only have a few friends who like kpop and they don't know how to dance either 😭

Jahira Bamaca it's understandable, having to preform in front of hundreds is very nerve wracking because not only do you always remember that there's an audience but having to remember the choreo to make sure you don't look unsynchronized is also very difficult 😂😂
I am damn lucky that in my school we can play k-pop songs in the gymnasium.

Things to point out, when Twice came it was decent but then it became not decent dancing specially with Fire the energy required was not there, some of them were out of coordination and in Twice one of the girls was always looking at the others as she didn't knew the choreography. Not wanting to be mean but seen others doing better job with less time of practice (no idea who much you practice but is not excuse to do an excellent job )
Thanks for the feedback!! But something to keep in mind is that we are all unexperienced beginners. So saying "seen others doing better job with less time of practice" is a bit over the top. You have to realize not everyone can learn a dance and immediately become a god at the choreography. I honestly think it depends on your ability to dance, but like i mentioned beforehand, we are all unexperienced. Again thanks for the feedback, it really helps us see what we can work on. :)

Hi apologies for the late reply! Running a club at school can be difficult, especially if you're not the best at public speaking or anything like that.
A few things to keep in mind is:
What do you want to do in the club? Do you just want to watch music videos and just talk? Or do you want to open up the club to be just dancing solely to k-pop? It's not easy to learn those dances either and it takes time out of your school hours to do so. And that's dancing to the point where you would perfect it for a performance.
You'd also need to be able to lead, communicate, and to manage what you have wisely. The outfits that we wore during that FHS Performance were brought using our own money. The dances were taught by one person who went home to learn it himself and to teach us the following days. We spent countless hours almost all of the school week learning the 3 songs. Our school ended at around 2-3 but we'd spend our time dancing until 6 just to get it right.
Now, as for activities, it's a bit difficult. For introductory, you can maybe refer to this website to help you (funattic. com/icebreakers-for-meetings.htm All the questions aside from #2 is very good for ice breakers). However, you can just look up ice breaker games or introductory games. Once to establish getting to know one another, communicate. Ask those that are participating in your club what they want to do? You can definitely start a dance group if enough people wants that. Or you can host k-dramas during your club hours. You can also make a youtube playlist of certain compilations if your school blocks off the access to watch k-dramas. I hope some of these ideas and my thoughtful insight and experience can help you! Feel free to talk to me if you need additional help:)
How...Just how did y'all manage to gather up the courage to do that. If that were me I'd make it like a daifuku and hide in a corner. Even though you're not professionals, having the courage to share your interest with the ENTIRE school is USOME
