Been having trouble with the fuel gauge on the T5 and I think I’ve worked it out but let’s find out.. #t5transporter #dtetv Level sender www.ebay.co.uk...
My 8 year old walks into the living room, stops and says out of no where “ boys……and girls” and walks off! Then as the tank comes down from the kitchen “ ah ye” “ good enough for the girls we date” I am still laughing my tits offs! Nathan you’re officially an influencer my mate! 🫡! On a side note has anyone else noticed TH-cam unsubscribing from channels. I have been unsubscribed from DTE 4 times!!! Not happy!
Hey Gavin haha that is absolutely brilliant 😆😆👍 that made me chuckle. I do my best to keep foul language and anything else to a minimum as I know there may be a young one listening. I super appreciate your comment it’s made my day, say hi to you boy for me 🙏👍. Oh that’s not good someone else mentioned similar recently hopefully if it happens again you come back to find the channel 🙏 Ps I’m going to pin your comment to the top thank you again mate 👍
Ah yeah nath, have a great Xmas and new year dude, spoke with my mrs the other night and come April maybe may I’ll be making the 187 mile trip down for the caddy meet, stay over and head back on the Thursday🤙🏼
Thank you for the video Nathan. That must have tried your patience, but full credit to you in persevering and using your ingenuity to get a working fuel gauge. My very best wishes to you and your family for the festive season.
Hey Karl yes it did a little a lot of effort to still not work 😂, atleast I know the tank doesn’t have to come off again. Merry Christmas to you sir 🙏 thank you
Excellent video again Nathan look forward to the next one can’t wait for the zero budget caddy to start again hope you Andy and everyone have a good Christmas
Hey Nigel thank you mate 🙏 I absolutely love my caddy it’s the best motor I think I’ve ever had. Hope your enjoying yours and happy days with the sale 👍
Happy Christmas Sir, looking forward to the content in the new year, every day is a school day. Like the additional gauge. My thought pattern would be, use that and something will turn up - it always does. As always Thank You.
All the very best buddy for you and the family over Christmas and New Year, as usual, cracking content with plenty of good close up to see the job at hand. You take it easy fella. 🎉👍🏻

Epic video mate, glad u had a good trip to London nd the van done well, no doubts nd happy little fix dude nd happy days for the wheels dude will definitely look epic mate well bloody done mate
Gotta love dropping fuel tanks! My missus has kittens when I come in stinking after a diesel heater install 😂Have yourselves a banging Christmas Nath! Cheers 😎
I tried to run my fuel down to make the tank lighter, I ran out on the a12 during covid. The internet went mad at me🙄 fitted a diesel heater, best mod ever worth all the agg :) keep doing what ya doin, merry Christmas:)
Hey bud haha oh man you definitely run it low then 😂 the internet does like to shoot people down in lucky with the comments on my videos but I’m expecting to keyboard warriors to find me soon. Appreciate the kind words and merry Christmas to you 🎄👍
The fuel gauge problem turning into a mission there DT. My Dad always used to say "It will be the last thing we try that fixes it". The temporary gauge, wot a good idea. We've all done a good temporary fix that, ahem, has morphed into the permanent solution, but I know this won't be the case here
Hey Karter thank you mate and haha your dad sounds a clever guy 👍 always the last thing. I was happy with the gauge for now till I get the clocks fixed. Merry Christmas mate thank you for always watching and supporting 🙏🎄👍
Hey plumpi so the silver T5 I’ve been working on off camera has the extra door seals and your right it definitely sounds like a golf when you shut the door, I will look into those 👍
Haha my first motor, a 1984 escort popular had no fuel guage, i was skint i was only 17, tank waa often that low when i went up a steep hill were i lived it would cut out haha, glad ypu enjoyed London with the family
Nath great little vid with a good bit of info. I got to be honest “ I hope I don’t have to do it 😂👍🏾🙏. Looking forward to the Christmas vid bud . Reference the electric window . I just took for panel off undone all connector plug . Sprayed with contact cleaner :))) 🤷🏽♂️happy days . I think they get damp in the winter . I do think I have a different motor in my passenger side , it works on bottom the wrong way round , up dose down - down dose up . Keep the great work up bud . Merry Christmas to you and the family . Now back to my project 🤙🏾🤙🏾
Hey Chris 👍 the tank wasn’t to bad but also wernt the nicest job 😂 I try that on the window plugs thank you. I’ll whip my tailgate panel off today and send you a picture hopefully it help. Merry Christmas to you sir 🙏🤶
Merry Christmas lad, had the same issue with my clocks, but I was to tight to do anything about it so brimmed it and reset the trip com and used to do around 300miles then fill up and then reset trip each time never ran dry🎉
Have a look at the drivers side window switch , my brother in law is a smart arse and found one of the little things in the switch had over heated. And he re-solder it.
Hey mark thank you 🙏 glad you enjoy the channel mate really appreciate that. I will have a look at my switch I’ve taken one apart before so I’ll give it a go 👍 merry Christmas to you 🤶
@@guitarshopfolkestone885 yep 👍 there’s an industrial estate down past the rubbish dump. Very nice mines a 2005 and I’m super happy with it. I’m used to rusty transits so the T5 is a breath of fresh air comparing.
Ive changed my hosing on my E38 who ever fitted the new tank in 2019 used like mesh hoseing and it all cracked and split last winter .cut a nice round hole next to filler cap in van pannel ,
Ive just watched something , A guy bought an EV golf but it had no charging cable or parcel shelf ,so the new owner went on Ebay and found someone selling them and it was the previouse owner .And there are some chinese wheel centre caps for sale there 4 for £2,99 they say BNW .
Maybe next time, check your sensor output voltage at the red plug to see if it's working. No problem for you as you are fitting a diesel heater, but for others it may help.
Oh yeah. I had to drop the tank once to install the reinforcement bracket for the 2nd row of seats. Not looking forward to do it again. :D (It was almost full).
Nightmare dropping the tank to change the sender and it not being the issue! I suppose you have to do that to put the pick-up pipe for diesel heater into tank anyway but it’s a soul crusher when you do a load of work expecting it to fix your problem and it doesn’t make any difference. Aaahgghhh
Hey B-RY I was abit gutted when I flicked the key on and it still didn’t work 😂 yep not all lost as wanting to fit the pipe for the heater but would have been nice 2 birds 1 stone etc.
Yeah do u have a link for this fuel level sensor, looking for the Vw transporter 2.5tdi axd 2005, mini bus Amazing videos the best content, best in the business
Hi bud thank you really appreciate the kind words I’ve just added the link to the one I used in the video description 👍 I have also since fixed my fuel gauge there’s a recent video on the channel 👍
Great video. Did you get the dash/gauge repaired and is it working now? My fuel gauge stopped working at the weekend. It has done it before and fixed itself!😬 BTW. I’ve used ECUtesting a couple of times to repair abs pumps and they have been great.
Hiya no I havnt had it repaired yet, I do have a temporary fix for you thow, under your passenger seat there’s a red plug, in that plug is a thin brown white wire, if you push a piece of wire into the terminal with it still in and then earth that wire your fuel gauge should work. Let me know 👍
@@EmeyeP awesome 👍 the red plug has 4 wires, the 2 fat ones are the fuel pump and the other 2 are the fuel sensor just add an earth to the thin brown wire and I’m pretty sure your fuel gauge will work. I would call it a temporary permanent fix 😎
