She has a bison the size of a car getting up close and cuddly with her. And she doesn't lose her cool, just scoots over in the side by side. Marissa is a boss.
I love the turkeys. We have a wild turkey in our yard that joins us for morning coffee on our patio. He eats shelled unsalted peanuts directly from the table while standing in between our chairs. If he wants more and we aren't quick enough, he pecks our arms to hurry us along. He also eats from the palm of our hands. If no one is in the yard with him and he wants company, he pecks on the sliding glass back door. He's special :)
Isn't it though? My mom raises cattle and there was a grown-up area on her property so she moved the cattle in-watching and listening to them eat was so satisfying and relaxing.
You were so right to tell people the difference in your Bison and Yellowstone. Thank you for doing that. I have seen videos from Yellowstone and people are so dumb sometimes. Like you said yours are use to youtwo because you take such good care of them every day. Love your videos.

@debannas4567 I'm not trying to come across harshly. It's reality. We all know the pastures at OG have the beef herd also and land can only sustain so many. I never ever did understand why people think they could cuddle up to ANY animal they don't know and who is obviously not tame. Sad part is, many times the animals pay a huge price for a stupid human's actions.
Dusty love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and the bison and other animals and Big Joe is spoiled and he knows it
This is what I love about you and Marissa, you are always learning about the natural state of the ranch, you are returning the land to its natural state you are working to reintroduce core natural species to the land and all of that is so important to rejuvenate the land and make it healthy so it can sustain the herd and all the native wildlife and plants. You’ve accomplished so much in a short amount of time and by the looks of it, it’s working your herd is healthy, your land is getting to where it should be and your hard work and eagerness to learn is paying off. I hope more ranchers do the same. If we want a healthy food supply we have to have healthy land. Well done Dusty, and Marissa. Hugs for Brookes. ❤️🇨🇦❤️
It feels good to me to see people across this country who are trying to sustain the land with animals and native plants. Thank you for doing all of this and making us aware of all of this hard work.

It was wonderful getting to see Marisa! I hope that we will have more opportunities to see the 3 of you together in some videos. If Big Joe came so close to me like he did to Marisa, I would be wary of him, too. It would take me a bit to get used to them, since they are your herd. Hi Dusty, Marisa and Brooks. Love watching yall working with the bison. They are so magnificent. Good luck with your turkeys God bless and love yall ❤❤
I work at a local museum with a wide range of wildlife displays(everything from songbirds, waterfowl, large mammals.) I recently (last two years) have stated: " This is the only time in your life where you will be safe to be this close to wildlife. When you are around live wildlife give them their space.".
It looks like big joe and the whole herd are all moving in slow motion. They must all be worn out. God bless you and your family dusty and all of your beautiful bisin. You take such good care of them all and love them all.
Love how you ranch. Taking care of the land, animals, and birds. You are my hero! That is a great flock of turkeys you have started. Bullet is CO CUTE! Thank you so much for sharing.
It's so good seeing those hulks, especially Big Joe, backlit by the sunset. They're poster material, folks. The printing, the cardboard tube, the postage, the packaging.... how much? And I know you have a couple of Big Joe beauties scattered in your back catalogue.... so, there's another couple of strings to your bow.
The herd looks great. Big Joe looks like a proud king over looking his maidens. Turkeys are growing, same thing with the red dogs. I heard about the Turner bison some time ago. Things are looking good! Well done!
I learn so much from you, I can't raise animals anymore as I'm old, But I tell my son who lives with us. He is learning. Right now, we are overloaded with grasshoppers. ❤
Good seeing y'all out with the bison. Big Joe wanted some personal time with Marissa. Hope you have a good breeding season. You take care of and spend close up time with your bison and they know y'all love them. Good luck with the turkeys. GOD bless y'all
Big Joe has to give the boss lady a big hello greeting😂 He is looking really good! I’m glad that you was able to get some of the eggs to hatch, sounds like a cool plan for the future. Cool tail on that plane.
Dusty I raised turkeys and chickens for many years, 20000 lbs twice a year, if you raise your feed and waterers you can ease the stress on their legs and you will achieve a healthier turkey with less crippling. Just a thought! It works great for raising chickens for butchering as well. Enjoy your videos, keep safe

Very excited to see what you are doing with regenerative ag!! It's so important. I went to college in DeKalb Co, IL. At that time it was one of the highest corn producing areas in the country, and home of DeKalb Agriculture corn hybridizing. I would occasionally stop by a field and pick up a handful of soil, look at it, smell it. The soil was dead, no insects, no "soil" smell, I assume from liberal use of fertilizers and insecticides. You go Dusty!
I think yes nutrient density is at peak in heat of day as that's when least water is in it, I believe best palatability (taste) is still early morning. Picking veggies from garden taste better in mornings . not bison but my grass eating animals prefer morning grass vs late afternoon grasses anyhow.
