Hey, maybe this is King Kahuka's summer vacation villa where is resting from his duties :-)
I miss those golden coins and palm trees too...

Not only did this theme mark the debut of the first version of the crocodile, but several "arch" pieces also made their first appearances in this year. More interestingly, this and the "Robo Guardian" from Spyrius which you reviewed are the first of twelve sets to have the 1x6 brick w/bow in red, and the first of seventeen appearances of the 1x12x3 "arch" in black. The whip pieces were introduced in this theme, appearing the most often in black and green. Every other color it appeared in, only appeared in one set each, before being retired two years ago. This is also the first of six standard sets (apart from bulk bricks) to have the 16x32 base plate in blue, with one of these being re-released in 2017 under a different set number before being retired. Even some more minute elements such as the 1x2x2 "brick corners", inverted roof tiles, as well as 6x10 plates were introduced during '94, with the set also being the first appearance of the 4x8 plate in yellow.

I love the Islanders theme and don't have any of the sets. I have just one random figure so far. I'd love to get into eventually (preferrably luck into something in a used haul or random good deal).

Some people do not like those old palm trees because they find them difficult to build due to the stiffness of the pieces. However, I think those old palm trees are great. Great review though!

Actually, it was very common for pirates and other sailors to wear eye patches, even if they didn’t lose an eye. It was because the eye covered by the patch was accustomed to the dark, so they could just switch the eye that the patch covered if they went inside the ship so they could see.

I'm still suspecting the imperial guard has some cruel methods of punishing pirates that correlate with so many of them having eye-patches ;-)
I really like this set and would you believe it? I don't own it yet. :-D
Maybe the king Kahuka figure in this set is his son? Maybe a prince? :-) Just Imagine... :-D
