Brilliant. I think this is one of my favorites of yours. Do you use any samples, or have you designed all the formant-sounding bits?

Hey! thanks for the nice comment. Glad to see this clicked with folks.
I almost exclusively use software instruments for the formant sounds, namely Garageband instruments library and a small handful of instruments made for the 'Decent Sampler' plugin. All of these are heavily processed through pitch shifters, reverbs, and/or delay effects (I use Deelay plugin a ton) to get them even further away from their preset sounds. Sometimes I'll use my guitar, bass, or a Casio SA-46. I recently made my own private sample pack of rumbles and drones, and so those appear from time to time and usually less processed.
As for the high end, more 'ornamental' stuff, I use field recordings from Free To Use Sounds and my own sample library I recorded with a handheld Tascam.

@@Bakkerman I really appreciate the detailed response. I've been into the music for years, but I've just started getting into making it last month. I've been playing guitar/bass most of my life and doing four track recordings, but WOW, the electronic process is completely different isn't it? I can already tell half the battles going going to be knowing when to call a song finished. You can tweak things literally forever 😳 I'm going to check out your sample pack. Again, thanks for the detailed reply.

@@BakkermanJust had a poke around there (I do a horror movie review channel here on YT, looks like we both prefer standing in the dark 😉). Is your pack available somewhere for purchase?
