Looks like a cool site! Curious what your thoughts are on the BGD base 2. I am coming from an Advance Iota 2 and considering making the switch. I see you have flown both wings from your videos

The site is indeed super nice. Iota2 vs Base2. Very different gliders. I started out flying both the Punk and Iota2 at the same time with most of my time on the Iota2. I love the Iota2 and it was a nice step up from a low B glider. The BGD gliders are much more agile and dynamic in general and I only flew the Punk for that specifically. But in turbulent air, the Punk threw me all over the place and it was a little tense at times. The Iota2 is much more mellow and dampens the bumps was reassuring in turbulent air. But it's a bit more of a truck in comparison. The BGD philosophy is that the dynamic glider will announce the turbulent air so that you can avoid it. Did not quite understand it at first but now I do and I actually fly the Base2 that way. I put ~60+ hrs on the Itoa2 and ~15 hrs on the Punk: that should tell you where my preference was. I switched to the Base2 about 15 months ago and I've been mostly flying the Base2 (~45 hrs on it) ever since. I found more performing than the Iota2 (better glide) and without thinking it has become my "go to" glider for everything. BGD tamed it a little bit as compared to the Punk, made it a XC glider, but it's still much more dynamic than the Iota. I flew the Iota2 a couple of weeks ago, for the first time in a year, and I found it "unresponsive" - had to yank the breaks to get it to turn - as I am so much more used to the Base2 now. I would definitely recommend the Base2 based on my own experience but the dynamic side takes some getting used to but once there, it's hard to go back to a more mellow glider, though the calm characteristics are also nice to have 🙂. The dynamic characteristics (chatty glider) allow with more precisely flying and weight shifting is more efficient and so I use a lot less break input. I also fly a mini wing (Zero3) and I can say that Base2 is a bit like a mini being very responsive to inputs. I recently acquired a Cure2 so you can see that I am sold on the BGD gliders... I only fly the Cure2 occasionally as it's still a little advanced for me.

With all that being said I suggest you try a demo Base2 as I did…

@@leso1402 I appreciate the input! I do notice that the iota seems to take a lot of input to respond. Looking forward to trying the base!
