I wish they spent a little more time on the issue of the fiduciary responsibilities of financial and wealth managers and compliance requirements. There are too many high profile stories of employee embezzlement of client money at these firms, and as much as I would like to invest, I don’t have full faith and confidence in the Jamaican financial institutions. I appreciate Throp for facilitating this, I think it’s an important first step.

Question I have no job and I got a million dollars but don't want it to go to waste plus I have a child on the way I collect this large amount from my settlement from car crash I don't want to make a bad choice investing my last.

HI THROP..THE Question I wld like to be asked...1...why arent the banks n other financial investments Companies hvnt opened more branches..in uk...places...where you've got a high percentage of jamaicans n other Caribbean nationalties..

If one million is all you have as a settlement, I think you should have certain things in place before investing your money. Do you have emergency funds in place? (6 months expenses if you lost your job). Do you have unpaid debt?
