Lyrics
Some people say I look like me dad
What?! Are you serious?
Ah Ohh Hey Hey
Ah Ohh Hey Hey
I said, hey boy sittin in your tree
Mummy always wants you to come for tea
Don't be shy, straighten up your tie
Get down from your tree house sittin in the sky
I wanna know just what to do
Is it very big is there room for two ?
I got a house with windows and doors
I'll show you mine if you show me yours
Gotta let me in, hey, hey, hey
Let the fun begin hey
I'm the wolf today hey, hey, hey
I'll huff I'll puff
I'll huff I'll puff and blow you away
Say you will say you won't
Say you'll do what I don't
Say you're true, say to me c'est la vie
Do you play with the girls, play with the boys ?
Do you ever get lonely playing with your toys ?
We can talk, we can sing
I'll be the queen and you'll be the king
Hey boy in your tree
Throw down your ladder make a room for me
I got a house with windows and doors
I'll show you mine if you show me yours
Gotta let me in, hey, hey, hey
Let the fun begin hey
I'm the wolf today hey, hey, hey
I'll huff I'll puff
I'll huff I'll puff and blow you away
Say you will say you won't
Say you'll do what I don't
Say you're true, say to me c'est la vie
Say you will say you won't
Say you'll do what I don't
Say you're true, say to me c'est la vie
Unless you were a teenager when this song came out, you have absolutely no idea how much of a bop this was in high school. Absolute classic.
100% just watched senior year on Netflix and ALL the nostalgia.
Jaysus I’m old lol
This song was a hit when I was in high school
Not in my high school, I swear lol I was the only one who listed to this song and jammed out big time to it!
Factz
Was in elementary. Didn’t realize all the euphemisms 🤣🤦🏻♀️😬🤦🏻♀️
This video had everything. Verbal abuse, bondage, and out of nowhere, Riverdance. 11/10.
+Billy Arturo made me lol
+Billy Arturo I'll show you mine if you show me yours- do you play with girls or play with boys (gay shaming), - and the hand gesture when she said playing with your toys :D God after all these years!!!I thought they were so cute and innocent back then :))))
+Billy Arturo I think your comment literally made me cry its so true!
+Billy Arturo Except it's not really out of nowhere - the Riverdance, that is - the girls are Irish, after all. Though it didn't really have much to do with the song.
i am dying omg
Gotta love when the beat drops and the irish dancing starts
Facts. I'll never stop loving this song.
To be fair, are you really an Irish pop group if you don't break into a river dance in the middle of your song?
The best part 🥳
@@dannyboyc3po Is that really what a clown should be saying tho?
Oh sure, they're irish so let's add some river dance

Ha! I just commented that I also made up a dance routine to this song when I was 9, and that I'm glad youtube wasn't around back then because I would have definitely ended up in a cringe compilation hahaha.
21 years later and we still have no idea what "Some people say I look like me dad" has to do with anything.

We had to bury my sister today. This was her favorite song and they played it at her funeral today. I can never hear it the same. Rest easy man.
I’m so sorry !! I can’t imagine the pain your going through. I had just lost my father about 3 months ago, and it’s so frustrating and sad, but I’m gonna keep trying to live on and be the young woman he would’ve wanted me to become !!
I have loved this song my whole life. Seeing this comment broke my heart. I’m so sorry for your loss just scream this song Whenever you miss her. She’ll be there too

So sorry to hear that.Hugs to you❤️
You played a song about hardcore s*X at your sister’s funeral?
I’m a 30 year old, married man. Up until today I’ve thought of myself as a pretty normal guy. I cannot - stop - watching this and I don’t know why and it SCARES me.

I'm just a drunk metalhead who ended up here from nostalgia, but this song is a legit bop. it might've been a hit but I still think it was underrated.
Shut up
I used to repeat those lines "some people say I look like me dad" ... "fight like my dad as well" in that Irish accent randomly while I was introducing myself during circle time in rehab.
The brain does a lot of weird stuff while rewiring itself.

@Kiss Zoltán No such thing. The black race is from Africa, not Ireland. You are where your race is from, not where you live. A black person born in sweden is not swedish, but african.

This is the greatest song ever. Sorry, Mozart.
The thing about 90's music is that they don't worry about how cool or sexy they look. It's all about having fun, expressing yourself no matter if you don't look cool and sexy. and it translates in the music and the videos.
Why do you think they wear the same clothes and dance like that? That was cool in the nineties :P
Rose tinted garbage. Pop in the 90s was as commercialized and phony as it is today. It blows my mind how sugar coated everyone's memories of that decade have become.
I saw that. But it's not as cutesy and innocent visually as it used to be.
Andreia Guerrero You ever see a Maralin Manson, NIN or a prodigy video? They're from the 90's.

The Irish dancing is too much😄😄😁
Growing up in Ireland, I and everyone I knew HATED Irish dancing, traditional Irish music etc. I mean DETESTED it. Now it seems everyone is pretending to be into it because we're on the world stage thanks to Father Ted, Riverdance and U2. Trouble is, it comes across as plastic and phony, like the Irish dancing in this video.
@@Dermot2927 lmao thats kinda funny. My family are all decents from Ireland but migrated to Prince Edward island, Canada when the potato famine happened (like most of all the other basterds who live their) The people there are pretty proud of irish/Celtic music and especially the dance.
SAD_ PEACH_TREE try going to Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia! It’s considered the only surviving example of highland/Scottish culture outside of Scotland. I THINK...lol. Something along those lines. More fiddlers per capita in Nova Scotia than anyplace else in the world, I read..
Twitting On Trender - I get what you mean about the phony and plastic aspect…I’ve been playing traditional Irish and Scottish fiddle for 20 years now. When I tell people what I play, the immediate reaction is something about “river-dancing” as if it’s some actual style of dance. Then they proceed to jump around stupidly as I back away slowly. I don’t know you people. Lol. Never mind the music, which is only COMPOSED in the vein of traditional Irish music. I have the Riverdance book of sheet music; there are traditional elements but there’s a lot more classical technique involved. And a lot of highly problematic keys, melodies and rhythms, if you want to talk about Irish music. One of the pieces (the main theme “Riverdance”) switches from 6/8 time to 2/4 every other bar or something crazy. It’s fun, and works for the show, but It gave me a false understanding of what Irish music was. I saw Riverdance when it first debuted and I was 10 years old. To me that was “traditional”. So when I finally picked up the fiddle I was attempting to play these insanely composed pieces (not tunes!) from the show, which were composed on piano and unrealistic for a newbie! Although the whistle was always my first instrument, and I play just as often as the fiddle…I learned in the end! Nevertheless; years later, I’d be studying BA in Irish Music and Dance from University of Limerick...Yes, I became that obsessed. It wasn’t till later I found out my Irish descendants played music (don’t know what) and were from the county Donegal. Which is my absolute diehard favorite type of Irish music! It all came out in me. Purely by chance. So as phony as it is, I guess Bwitched/Riverdance gave me a preview of my future life?! Hahaha
Its crap Irish dancing. They'll even admit to it ha

P.Z. Arnott Or my favorite "wait, WHAT" moment was right before the first chorus of "I Wanna Love You Forever" by Jessica Simpson, "pour yourself all over me, and I'll cherish every drop here on my knees."
This is probably the happiest song ever written. Ever. Every time I listen to it a huge smile bursts out of me, no matter what mood I'm in. Also, while we're on the subject of Irish pop groups, what the fudge happened to the Corrs?!
what about "shiny happy people"? :P
Those girls in the Corrs were all stunners
Bwitched Cest La vie, Rollercoaster & jesse hold on are always the best songs to dance 2
I'm 23 now.. I used to sing this as a little boy AHAHAHA
25 now and I was the same, holly hell I remember this at some Birthday parties haha!
I used to sing "hey boy, sitting in the tree, come on down and have some tea" LOL how embarrassing :P
Lol ill do one better guys i had the cassette =)
judith rupapera
I can do one even better, I've got a promo cassette copy, sent to radio DJs and other people in the music business
Hey, im also a 23 year old guy, and I loved this song back in the day lol
1:07 GIT O LOIFE!
2023 I'm still listening and singing to this song ❤
Knowing the meaning behind the lyrics when you're older....
honeycombedlite.. The awkward moment you realise it ain't innocent
"I'll show you mine, you show me yours?" You really didn't catch it from that line alone?
Then there's their move at 1:22. Pretty obvious there as well.
Mhmmmm
Absolutely grew up with these girls massively . So many memories. 1992 baby here. God I miss the 90’s ❤️
1994 here and my sisters played this all the time as I was growing up I loved it along with other 90s groups.
1998/1999
a lot of us born in the 90s miss the 90s
The 90’s were such a special era.
Are windows and doors a luxury in Ireland?
I think the girl also has a tree house but with windows and doors, or is comparing her regular house with the boy's tree house.
