    I had both on demo olly. I went with the spread a bale because of the dust that the teagle was producing. I was mindful of creating pneumonia issues with the calves and young stock. If you are building a new shed and are able to drive in for bedding, I would go for spread a bale.

    Great video 📹 Olly. Both machines are very well made and look amazing but I think the teagle telehawk Is More Suited to your farm especially as the teagle has the spout to spread the straw which is more accurate 👍

    Teagle for me we had a teagle and a spreadabale on our dairy farm had our teagle for 7 years its been fantastic purchase and saved a lot of straw in the process

    Hi Olly another good video, my choice is teagle I have seen both working both with a bit of age to them and the one still working perfectly is the teagle . Thanks 😊

    The Spread-a-bale seems to be simpler and will likely require less fuel to run, but will likely not tear up the straw as much, which can be a benefit or a drawback, all depending on what end result you are looking for.

    Teagle telehawk seems more suited to your setup. I am not a farmer but your excellent descriptions of both tools. And the footage we see. The Teagle seems the better fit.

    I just had the very same decision to make I’ve a manitou 635 and went with the spread a bale midi. I didn’t like the way you needed an extra oil return pipe fitting on the teagle plus it was very dusty. I put a new shed up and made a feed passage way at the front so I could shut the cattle in it while I drove in behind the to bed up the main part of the shed. I got the midi because it also takes square bales which will help at harvest and be able to get twice the weight of straw in the same space in the shed.
    We had a 630 manitou first it was the best thing we ever did changing to a 635 very slightly wider which makes it more stable

    The spreader bale unit I would choose now there 👍👍

    Big decision both machines are spot on however the Teagle tele hawk would be your best option better chop with the straw you’ll find the spreadable will cause hassle with the straw binding within the rotors and the belt will wear down a lot.

    I’d say the Teagle is more suited to your farm Olly especially with how confident you feel with it.

    If you intend to bed the sheds while the animals are still in the shed,we found the spread-a-bale was a lot safer,because the straw does not be spread with the same velocity as a straw blower,and if there is some stones in it,they are very dangerous through the blower to the animals eyes..therefore we chose the spread-a-bale for that reason...another plus of the spread-a-bale is that if the straw gets stuck in the rotors,it is simple to reverse it,to free it,without having to get out of the cab..but with the teagle,it was hard manual work to free a choke..finally I would definately recommend the midi spread-a-bale over the mini,because you can fit in 2 round bales or any size of square bale,and isn't that much heavier than the mini,especially when it's a telehandler that you have.the mini is really best suited to tractor mounted loaders

    Got a spread a bale midi handles fine on a 7042 Weidemann. Had a telehawk 2 year ago and got rid of it after a year and bought a new spread a bale. It’s just too complicated.

    You are not talking about price? Are they roughly the same? The spreadabale looks a lot cheaper as less moving parts etc.

    Hi Olly, I think out of the 2 the spread a bale world be better for your farm as if you get a new shed you would want something that would spread further as the Teagle seems as if it wouldn’t cover as much area as the spread a bale would, anyway I think they’re both great machines, hope this helps.

    Cornish Teagle Olly

  • @oliverbrooks546
    @oliverbrooks546 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The telehawk would be more versatile. I would have riper over knives because longer straw seems to keen stock more dry and goes further

    Ever thought of going for a roundhouse ideal for teagle, importantly health of your cattle

    • @OllysFarmLtd
      @OllysFarmLtd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A few years back I visited a round house and loved it, the only issue is once the cows are out it can only be used for one purpose, a multipurpose rectangle shed gives more options I.e. grain storage, woodchip, straw, machinery storage, aswell as cattle.

    • @kevinroberts2014

      @@OllysFarmLtd hi respect that thought, we used to keep machinery and round bales of straw, glad you are liking Cornish built teagle chopper, used to have an 8080 teagle chopper trailed hitched up to our Nuffield 4/65 to bed down the roundhouse

    Defo the spreadabale more compact machine and better for the cattle we’ve had them both on demo and spreadabale won hands down so we purchased 2

    I use a tomahawk, I don't really like it. Does a really good job, but lots of faff. They are a pain to unblock because it blocks around the edges of the fly wheel, so you can't get in easily to clear. Also eats shear bolts.

    • @OllysFarmLtd
      @OllysFarmLtd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you tried the updated models? The telehawks design is super simple and I haven’t been able to block it yet 😉

    • @joelheathcote
      @joelheathcote ปีที่แล้ว

      Is probably a fair few years old to be fair. Does also depend alot on bales as well, they don't like a damp bale
