I just received yesterday my 2-6-0 Mogul Steam engine from MrMuffins Trains. He ran a custom run on the Chicago Milwaukee St Paul & Pacific. Fantastic smaller Legacy engine. Great video Chris!
Look up the magma Arizona railroad. Their no 6 looks a lot like this. I wonder if the make a model of it.
I kinda wish Lionel did a special feature on these to make them stand out, like how the 0-6-0s had the swinging bell. When Lionel released their H10s a couple years back, they were a real bang for your buck with whistle steam and swinging bell. These moguls are around the same price point but they lack that extra pizazz to make them special.
Agreed. But the boiler is so small compared to the h10 on these it’s tough to fit more.

I have a older rail king version of this locomotive painted with a John Deere scheme. It’s a great working locomotive with one of the best if not the best smoker in my collection. I enjoyed the video.

Thanks for this great preview of the new Legacy Mogul, Chris. The colouring is striking, nice green tone with the graphite boiler. Looks awesome pulling that freight. It'll be nice when you get to do a full review.

Another great review video as always chris! The engine has a very beautiful paint job indeed! I also couldn’t help but notice, but I can hear the smoke unit fan while the train is in operation.
Yes. Fairly standard on many smaller steam engines with only one speaker

That thing looks like a total winner from METCA - gorgeous job! It looks like it runs well - any issues such as motor stalling cab "disco lights" and issues with gearing? The last run of Moguls were royally screwed up but it looks like they may have hit a home run on this production run.

Great Video, based on what I saw I have placed an order. One question, about three quarters through the video you can hear tower and cab talk with a cool whistle. Is that whistle part of the crew talk or one of the five you can select from control? I really liked the tone.
Looks ok, the green on the boiler should have a clear coat on its to flat
It's an odd thing, but I learned in modeling a long time ago a glossy coat on a model doesn't look as good as a semi-gloss or a flat coat even if the prototype is glossy.
Just the way it is.
Beautiful engine Chris! And a fine model of a very under-represented type of engine in O Gauge.
A D&RG engine's an interesting variant. However I checked the Lionel 2022 catalog and I'm surprised that of all 'roads Lionel didn't do a Boston & Maine Mogul, the B&M was a BIG user of the Mogul type and was famous among railfan circles for the same, in fact they lasted right up to the end of steam both for commuter and local freight runs. But hey, Lionel didn't ask me!
A Strasburg Mogul? THAT they did! Man, they'd have to be crazy not to do good ol' #89!

Interestingly enough, Wayne, I think but I am not 100% certain, the Lionel Mogul tooling is based of a B&M prototype...go figure!
@@mattstrainroom Yeah, I can't figure it out. Lionel's essentially ignoring a major market like the New England area. Who knows why they make the decisions they do?
Maybe if this Mogul's a hot seller they'll expand the coverage on another go-round?

Where did you find the Rutland boxcar red boxcars? I have been looking for one myself for my Strasburg collection, but only finding the two tone color ones.

Got my Strasburg version today and disappointed. Lionel has gotten LAZY. They did not paint match the red throughout or fix the placement of the light on the tender. Number on the back of the tender is the wrong size. They did not even give it new steam chests. And they used the cheap spoke pilot wheels. Not the good ones. Happy I kept my original.
