This stunning country house was the site of Park Boarding School for junior boys, which opened in November of 1941.
The premises could accommodate up to 120 students.
During its 44 years of action, devastatingly, the school failed the children in the worst way possible.
In the 1960s, a number of men employed and residing at the school, including the housemaster, were carrying out acts of sexual assault on boys under the age of 16.
They were only brought to justice in 1998.
The school closed in 1986 and later became a care home for the elderly before being left abandoned in 2016.
This grand building holds so many years of history within it, and sadly a dark past for some that will always stain its old walls.

This is the third explore I've seen of this house, with Sam & Jesse. The other two were with two other explorer UK teams. Appreciate your introduction about it's history. I can see why it failed as a care home. The residents would have to be independent, as it really wasn't designed for wheelchair or walker users. Plus it's so easy to get lost in there!! Think Sam will want to try a paranormal explore?

Beautiful place. The lady in the frame was grace Kelly very famous movie star. She also married Prince Rainier of Monaco . She died in a car crash in 1982

I can imagine what they looked like in their 'glory days'- with 'posh' ladies coming down the stairs - I can imagine I hear the swishing of their satin and silk gowns. I,d loved to know its original owners and what they did - for a quid !! Must have been super rich in that time.

To take that manor house back to its original beauty is a dream of mine. Still a lot is salvageable. Hopefully someone will take it and help it along.
You guys should write a book about abandoned places and put pictures in it of all the places you’ve been to illustrate it and get it published and sold. It would be amazing I works but it as a coffee table book.
That looks like art deco style 1920s 1930s on staircase.
Obviously been changed since then, but I can garrentee they never had a smoking area as smoked everywhere in those days lol

The English trust should take over this beautiful elegant mansion and preserve it before it decays anymore it's a complete shame to loose such beautiful architecture

Sadly vandals and thieves have gone there the weekend stole the lead from the roof and smashed the windows 😢. New security being installed.

It blows my mind that no one goes in there and guts the place. Or how there is just stuff left over like a six burner gas stove or the painting. Can you imagine pulling all that fine carpentry wood work out and then repurposing into your home... Cost a fortune to get would like that that thick... If it was in metro Detroit , that place would be empty lol
