    Awesome job! Waiting for my mill to arrive next week! I have a lot of ceramics and so glad to see the process. Great videos Mike

    Now that was a bit more straight forward processing than has been lately. I'm glad you ended up with more gold than you thought. I wouldn't bother doing a nitric boil after the HCl, just do one acid boil of either nitric or HCl, because if you do both acids, even after rinsing, you might still form a bit of aqua regia and loose gold when you filter and wash. 👍

    Mike a thought or maybe an idea? Since this mill handled the ceramic chips with ease, what do you think about or at-least testing a sample of plastic IC's? I'm curious if it's possible to release the gold bond wires? Let me know thoughts and thank you for your time.

    I really need to get the Mighty Mill.
    I'm hoping this is the year I will process my first hoard of IC chips!!

    Wow, that was very interesting to watch. I'm glad to see the mill works good for this application. I'd love to see how much silver you got, and I would LOVE to find ore worth 16 oz/ton like those chips! Great video!

    Respirator... silicosis sucks.The Mighty Mill is a very interesting tool... I will be looking that guy up!

    • @aredditor4272
      @aredditor4272 ปีที่แล้ว

      Silicosis is caused by crystalline silicon dioxide - quartz. No quartz in that stuff.
      Having said that, dusts of any sort are often bad to breathe in, even bakers got a disease from breathing in flour dusts.

    Hi Mike, Fantastic video! VERY well done! Would putting these chips into an A/P bubbler to get rid of the legs help any? I have over 6 kilos of ceramics - half are eproms. My piggy bank just might experience sudden hammer syndrome to get a Mighty Mill! Thanks again for an awesome video and all your time & expertise to educate us! Take Care, Stay safe. Jim

      You took the thought out of my head lol, I was wondering if you have the time like Mike did a few months ago in the spent A/P solution before he went out west.

      @@wsdsable I built 3 bubblers that will do 2 1/2 pounds of chips each every 5 days. I'm going to put 2.2 pounds (one kilo) of ceramic chips in one tomorrow.

      @@wsdsable Hi, Since we 'spoke' last - I've run 2 batches of 2 kilos each of ceramic eproms. Each batch took 3 days to complete. The acid ate away 175 grams of steel legs in the first batch. Take Care.

    Great info im just starting out with doing hardrock sampling. Im interested in geting a mighty mill to process my quartz float that i have in my stream that i work. How fine will the mill crush the materials dowm to?

    • @omegageek64
      @omegageek64  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It'll produce a powder that contains particles from flour size up to several mm in diameter. It's great for sampling, but not a production machine where you want uniformly small particle size. You could screen the output and run the over size through again.

    Hi, I wonder... if you put some very tiny 1mm lead balls (fishing weights), will they assist in the crushing and even scraping the golden plated surfaces... like sand blasting old paint?

    Be careful you don't just toss out those steel legs from the IC's. The gold bond wires may still be attached to them.
