Played 54 holes with Steady Ed at Am Worlds in KC 1999; I'd met him back at Rose Bowl in '79; I was there on the field as a journalist but had a chance to join the DGA and have a really low number but was in my anti-organization phase and so didn't join until a couple years later. Crazy dude.

It's crazy you guys are talking about steady ed because I'm playing in a memorial steady ed tourney this weekend in Pierre, SD. I guess it's been going on for 8 years now and next year they're working on getting it to be sanctioned.
19th annual it was , and I took 1st place with shooting the lowest scoring round so I acquired a frisbee with his ashes made inside the disc, I did it for Steady Ed: BigJerm, and Uli for speaking about him on the coverage. It was amazing and I got the chills when I first grabbed the frisbee. Such an amazing feeling it was.
Good gravy this is an impossibly hard course. Like, obviously with a group of the top players on the planet they are going to be good but dang. What a fun thing to watch.
