This is an excellent demo and he's a very gifted player! However, I hope Kurzweil realise that small LCD's aren't the way to go in 2011 even if they claim to have a good GUI! The Kurzweil sounds are great but again (as I mentioned under the great Korg Kronos demo), we don't have much to go by when it comes to other acoustic instruments such as guitars, brass etc. Lets hope that Kurzweil continue to develop great sounding instruments with interfaces that don't still belong in 1992!
I would like to see a video about how to use the sequencer. Making say a 8 track recording laying down 8 diffrent instrument tracks to make a song. I saw this done on the Kronos and it seem to be real easy to do on that system. One they where able to also record in audio from a guitar on the audio input which I wish the PC3K* had. I hope Kerzweil will have all the Kronos features plus its own features in their next model they bring out. I would like to buy a Kurzweil but need audio input.
How does this compare to the Jupiter 80 and I wonder if I could use the Integray by Roland with the PC3K8 to have all the Roland sounds. But would I be able to use the supernatural sounds in the same way with inflections etc. on the PC3K8.
I hope that if Kurzweil stops selling keyboards, that they become like Camel Audio and unleash the VAST synth and patches to the world in software form.
so does anybody have experience with the digital output (SPDIF) connected to a DAW ? How easy is it transfer ? The new Roland FA06 looks amazing too, but it does not have any way to cable connect to a DAW like the Kurzweil's do.... your thoughts ?
Ordered one just now after 17 years using a K2500xs as my studio master board. A Kronos is much more expensive ofcourse and you really wonder why you want to buy a synthesizer/workstation these days anyway. With all those wonderfull vst libraries around you can have the best sounds and flexibility with just a controller and a laptop. But as a Kurzweil fan i could not help myself buying the pc3k8.. One thing i have to say, i find the way they made the large slider optional really strange. It looks very sloppy with the wire sticking out from the side. The amount of controllers on this machine is very important but please always integrade that large slider.
Hey Chris! Great review! BTW - How are the 1 note trills when you use 2 hands and your index finger playing 1 note really fast? Does the action respond well? Thanks!
@alphasxsignal who cares about sequencers at these instruments? That's a work o daws. U an a user of pc3k8 too. This synth is amazing.Everyday i enjoy it even more!
The keyboard maybe great but I can't understand what you just played. I wish it was a Superman sound track and some other pop hits. like Black Piano did where he played the X-Files. And another TH-camr played Superman on PC3K6. or like Erik James. At least people will get hooked. my first board was a Korg M1, but I'm thinking if I should go for this, the Motif or the Kronos 2 2015 88 keys. I only like the piano and string demo on here. Thanks. Peace everyone!
@alphasxsignal There is a computer Editor developed by SoundTower which is excellent, it makes programming the keyboard waaaayy easer than it is!! Check this out /watch?v=oiBhl070OUs
This demo was fantastic; Thanks you, Chris!

Great instrument. I like the arpeggiator functions.
Beautiful full piano
Wish they had a audio input so I can bring in my guitar playing sounds.

Great machine, also very intricate to program.

Is there Indian Voices - Tabla, Dholak, Sitar, Bansuri, Sarod etc in PC3K series. ??
I noticed he compares the PC3k constantly with the K2500 and K2600, but how does it compare with the PC3?

whats the name of that plug in that lets you slide stuff ?
Could the interface be controlled from a larger computer screen? Is there a way to do that?
Do they make styles for this system?
That is some nice chord percussion :D
It's identical excluding the fact the PC3 can't load custom samples and has an xD-card slot instead of an USB slot.
Very nice !

@selatik1 Sound Tower make a nice editor software for this I found and its real easy to use.
Tell me please, Does Kurzweil PC3K6 have drums accompaniment (patterns, interactive arpegio) like Yamaha Motif, Mox6 etc.?
I think it does.
Its a great all around piano/synth.. but the kronos has alot to offer for the money
One quiestion: does Kurzweil pc3k8 have split function? to play two instruments at the same time in the keyboard
+llorenç carbonell yes, you can do split and layering.
Can you explain this split process a instrument on the left and right?
want it soooo much but i have nowhere close to the right amount of money!!!!!!!!!

famous layersounds with strings & grandpiano
best part 8:16 - 8:28
That part is hilarious.

Yeah. You looks like Jordan Rudess playing
estupendo !
Come out with a new fully analog poly and you will be doing something.

looks like kronos a lil bit
No joysticks, no knobs, tiny screen, different body. I'm not seeing it.
Gets me every time xD
PS3 is a toy! I have one! (PlayStation3) :-D
The "new future hip sounds" ? you already blew it saying it
like that. Just say modern sounds.
This!!! :) Kronos not worth the money! Too shallow sounds!! Disappointment! But go and try out yourself... you'll see! Sad but true!
7 years ago I opted for the PC3K8.
05:52 -06:50 let me show you these new string sounds... oops, that was a piano! ;D
