It is definitely a good place. I stopped by 20 years ago. I was an exchange student living in Fairbanks and went on a trip to anchorage with my host mom. We stopped by the roadhouse on the way and until this day I talk to people in France about this beautiful, welcoming place I spend a night in, in a beautiful little town. I loved chilling in the living room near the wood stove and if I remember well I had a chicken soup with a biscuit. It was my first time tasting a biscuit and it remains my favorite side dish. I’m definitely planning on coming back to Alaska after all those years especially to the roadhouse. Thank you so much for those wonderful memories

Been to Talkeetna a couple of times. Stayed overnight at the Roadhouse once. The next time was in a little yellow cabin, ABB, close by. We had meals at the Roadhouse and enjoyed. A special treat, desert, we had there was the RAZZIE, a raspberry flavored, giant sweet roll, almost as big as the plate, split it between wife an I, loved it. The Roadhouse is special.

I spent a night at The Roadhouse in September of 2022. Very nice place. Trisha made us breakfast, and the sourdough pancakes were so good. She was very nice and so was the staff. It's definitely a place to visit if you have never been.

Was Dr Yates the one who always wore a sidearm whilst walking around town?

Visited Talkeetna Roadhouse in May 1992 and it was quite an experience. Stayed 1 nite and had breakfast.Returned to Whittier in 2013 to board Diamond Princess ship for a cruise to china.

I fondly remember stopping at the Roadhouse on a trip to Talkeetna in early October 2013. I had rented a car from Anchorage and driven about 120 miles or so. It was just me and the open road. The fall colors were riotous; absolutely gorgeous foliage! Nice lunch, intimate surroundings and lovely people. Now I am back here on the east coast dreaming of returning! Alaska is truly a world unto itself! The Roadhouse is an iconic landmark in "downtown" Talkeetna. lol ;-) P.S. I was also told by a local shopkeeper that the t.v. show/series Northern Exposure was based loosely on Talkeetna, even though the show was shot in Washington State.

I love the Talkeetna Roadhouse. The food is so delicious! Just the homemade apple butter alone is worth the trip!

I have a circa 1945-46 photo of my father, a US Army Air Force pilot visiting the Roadhouse with his flight and ground crew. They flew up from Elmendorf to get some time away from the base and its chow hall food. He flew into the Talkeetna airport that was built in 1938.
Back then it was known as "MacDonald's" Roadhouse. He loved Alaska, and was good friends with Bob Reeve, who wanted Dad to stay and fly for Reeve Aleutian Airlines, but my mother wasn't having any part of that. Sad, because I would have been born an Alaskan!
