It’s wonderful to see and hear my lovely Roy. I’ve heard all these stories many times over the years and he can still make me laugh, the sign of a great performer.

The old chestnut "they don't make e'm like that any more", really applies to Roy , he was the ultimate entertainer with a huge love for Music hall which is also a favourite of mine! I was listening to an episode of the news Huddlines this morning on digital radio, which also starred another stalwart of entertainment the late June Whitfield and i still get plenty of laughs from this radio show. RIP roy.

I saw Roy Hudd with Billy Dainty at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. They stopped the show with a ventriloquist act. It was hilarious. The funniest thing I ever saw at a theatre. What a lovely man he was.

What an absolutely wonderful adorable knowledgeable man" A Real Talent' A Real Star" never will we see these like again, maybe Lee Mack, but like everything "food, laughter, excitement, and a bit of titillation,as been classed as "" Oo no missus its bad for you""

Last year I had an experience that kind of parallels that of Roy’s. Rather than my hero being Cary Grant it was Roy himself. I am a fairly new member of the, Brighton based, Max Miller Appreciation Society of which Roy was our chairman. I met Roy, for the first time, at our annual dinner at the Old Ship Hotel in Brighton in November 2019. I was with Monty Python actress Carol Cleveland, who had worked with Roy years ago, and she introduced me. The conversation struck up straight away and it was a wonderful experience to chat with him about the various past Music Hall and Variety artists. Carol took a photograph of us together and what came over straight away was his generosity to others. For the pose he put his hand round onto my opposite shoulder and pointed his index finger toward me. The message coming over from Roy being that this is not about me it is about this fella I have just met. Lovely bloke, so sad that he died soon after.

A remarkable talent and a genuinely lovely man. His knowledge and respect of music hall entertainment was amazing and he was great as a performer himself. We'll never see his like again Thanks for the memories Mr Hudd ❤ 😊

I really hope he wasnt a victim of this ongoing virus that the over 70s are vulnerable to that going around . The cheeky chsppy of comedy has left us with some great comedic moments in TV film and radio The News Huddlines plus 2 films he appeared in 1 The Magnificent 7 deadly sins and 2 Up the chastity Belt with Frankie Howerd
