Candice Victoria the mold comes from water. So those whom had he issue either let water get in or used 50% rubbing alcohol

I've noticed that you didn't use aloe vera and everyone else does is this why your glitters didn't mold because you don't use the aloe vera I just don't want to waste my glitter if there going to mold in a few months. Thanks! loved the video !
Miss K I heard somewhere that glycerin is a form of sugar therefore can cause a fungus. *just saying what I heard, I don't know if it's true.*
I'm actually allergic to aloe and it's good to know that I don't actually need it. And this video vas very helpful!
+Heather Huber Glycerine is technically an alcohol :)
As far as biology goes, Heather Huber is correct, glycerine is a sugar. Bacteria will grow in warm, moist environments and the sugar is what they require to grow. As long as you store them in a dry place at room temp or cooler you shouldn't have that issue. At least not for a while. They can probably still "spoil" the way food in your refrigerator does it just might take longer. I would also suggest that you seal them well when you store them, less oxygen will make it harder for bacteria/mold to grow. I know you posted this comment a while ago but this could be helpful for anyone else with similar questions. In summary, cool - dry - sealed and you should be happy! :)
Heather Huber there is 2 types of glycerin the cooking one which is the one your talking about, and the medical glycerin which is the one she is using

Tfs absolutely love your video, I've used this method so many times and I've never experienced mold at all I hear people saying that it molds because of glycerin and aloe Vera. I did actually research on this stuff because I want to sell these, what U think is "mold" is discoloration u see in you glitter pans are cause because the glitter is non solvent resistant! That bullshit people say that glycerin pulls water out of the air isn't even true glycerin FOR THE SKIN is made to pull water from the lower layers of skin to help moisturize 2. Aloe Vera gel will not mold unless it is 100% natural as in you scooped it from the plant yourself when you buy aloe Vera it already has preservatives alcohol does not have ability to mold so there is no mold at all ladies do not be afraid to try this out I've done experiments on glycerin by buying a bottle and leaving it open in my bathroom when I shower it's gets steemy meaning that it's a moist area and the glycerin bottle had absolutely not water inside it has been opened for 5 days and it still has no water in there this is a good idea and alternative instead of buying expensive glitter injections
christine jaylee hey. So did you make your pressed glitter with the glycerin and the aloe gel? A little update pls. I hate how everyone keep telling that it will turn moldy cuz of the glycerin n the aloe.
Mikayla Hezekiah yes I have made them with glycerin and aloe Vera but I use solvent resistant cosmetic glitter and mine are fine I've made 40 colors in total and no mold in any of them

Mikayla Hezekiah I'm not to sure but when purchasing the glitter it should be in the description if not u can ask the seller I only get my glitters from eBay or aliexpress so I just search up solvent resistant cosmetic glitter

The glitters I made are not pigmented and don't stick the a brush/my finger when i swatch them. The mixture just moves around in the pan when I try to do anything with it. I let it dry for 24 hours and I'm using 91%.

If you make sure you are only using pure glycerine (no rosewater, no water at all) and the purest alcohol you can get your hands on, glycerine Will NOT support the growth of moulds etc. If there are moulds growing its because water was present in your glitter/pigments whatever.
