Due to the gear I was influenced to buy from watching you (not the cheap s***) and reacting in a way that I never would've if not for you, I'm alive. I wear an Arai Corsair X, been rocking the EarGasm ear plugs for a few years now, you can still hear your Cardo/Sena with them in. EarGasm doesn’t block all noise, they are designed to cut down the peaks. You still get good fidelity without the damaging peak intensity. They were originally meant for classical concert musicians, us in the motorcycle realm have just adopted them.

Seattle, WA. I've got a 500cc and I feel like I still hear my music and phone calls super well with the ear plugs, maybe even better bc the wind noise and exhaust noise is so reduced. Plus my head/ears aren't ringing nearly as much after really long rides.
Edit: Seattle, Washington! Love your videos adobo, you've taught me so much and it's nice to see someone from my area create quality content!

I was driving my motorcycle for a year without ear plugs and next one I started using alpine ones - and in my case I don't know how to describe it but it was easier for me to "focus" and they did not cut down my music from intercom - I highly recommend giving plugs a chance ✌️

I forget to put them in all the time, but I wear the alpine ear plugs and it makes long rides so much more pleasant. It makes it easier to hear the things I want to hear like comms, but takes things I don’t want to hear like wind out, it’s great.

I am a new rider and also wear ear protection. Did some homework before I started riding and YTers and even my riding school advised me to get protection if I didn't had it already.
Had some from work but they aren't that comfortable in the (or in this case my own) helmet. Especially measured to my ears specs and all but still not too comfortable.
Then I tried Loop Earplugs which are used for music festivals as well and for some other sections like motorcycle riding, and they sit way better. But also kinda hurts when in there for a longer amount of time say 1 - 1.5 hours. When taking the helmet off it also isn't feeling great. They do dampen sound and wind really well. Alpine Hearing Protection sells hearing protection as well. Quite common here and pretty good as I heard from many fellow riders. They looks similar to the Eargasm plugs. But they have like a handle on it in the end which I think that will gave the same issue though.
Might be that I need to get the helmet more broken in or something, or just get a different helmet or padding maybe.
I have a HJC C70 now. Certainly not the most quiet helmet out there so to speak. 😆So hearing protection is so nice to have then.
Hope you'll be wearing them as well from now on. And as always great video!

Yo Adobo, thank you for this. Hearing protection is important. Now that there are implants it is less of a case but better to have original than artificial. What I do is mix between using Apple Airpods 2nd gen which allows noise cancelation or transparency, as well as ear plugs than lessen the DB to less than 80 which still allows hearing but just at a lower volume. Music is important to me so those times I use the pods but if it is quick I use the plugs. Have to watch this video in full soon but had to comment immediately after reading the headline. I use a balaclava to hold my pods since my helmet is tight and nothing else is allowed besides glasses.

I run the alpine race earplugs after having “eh” experience with other brands. With the alpine plugs I can have a normal conversation, hear comms/music, and it only seems to reduce wind noise(a lot). Perhaps these work as well but you did say “under water” sounding which is a sign that they lack the proper frequency focus.
If the earplug sounds like you have a foam ear plug in your ear, you spent 20+ dollars more than you had to for a foam ear plug lol.

  • @JLUnlimited
    @JLUnlimited 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

In the beginning of the video he speaks some stats that is 1000% true.... Racers where earplugs not because of the sound of the muffler. It is the wind noise and lowering the sound to hear surrounding noise is the main reason racers like myself use them. Along with keeping your ears healthy....

Man I spent all summer of 23 searching for the right plugs and I purchased all the motorcycle plugs available and shooting and I had issues with them being loose as I’m putting on my helmet, so far the best Ive came across are construction plugs cheap foam and they expand in your ear , you can buy 500 plugs for less than $30 and u can use it one time and throw them out va spending $20 plus and loosing them or getting dirty or just worn out just my two cents 😊

Good info. My biggest gripe with the cheapo foam earplugs you get from the register display at your local shop is that they block ALL sound, and I don't like it. I would prefer to hear important things around me, but not the sound of air passing around my helmet, especially since I use modulars which are inherently noisier. I'll be using your promo link .

I use EarPeace Riding high fedelity plugs of 28DB. I rode for about a year with no plugs on my 300 and my right ear has been damaged quite a bit. Once I got my first 600 from a 300 it had a shorty 2 brothers and it was PAINFUL to ride for more then 5min. My ear was in so much pain bc of it I HAD to put a baffle in it. Once i put plugs in Ive ridden for 2 hours straight no problem.
Oh also due to no ear plugs when riding I cant listen to music super loud anymore anything with the letter S hurts my ears (if there mouth whistles the S at a high frequency) and tire squeals are painful.
Oh and yes with plugs you can hear your music and coms no problem.

I'm pretty (an assumption really) sure (and yes hello again, yt unsubbed me from this channel for some reason), the statistic that most hearing damages comes from wind noise is because most of the world doesn't allow exhausts to be as loud as they can be in the US:

I never ride without my earplugs. After you try them, you will realize how annoying that wind noise really is.

Motorcycle earplugs blocks most noise but doesn’t eliminate noises, what comes through is limited dB. I have used earplugs from work when I didn’t have mine and it just purely blocks everything to include music and exhaust which is okay around military planes but depressing on a bike. But earplugs for concerts and motorcycles are just perfect for protection and hearing.

Cities can be loud enough even pedestrians could use earplugs.

Just keep the stock exhaust and no need for ear plugs.
