I appreciate your videos about comparing different watercolour paint brands and pigments. I have found that watercolour paint will change colour when using different watercolour paper. What type of paper are you using for your swatches? If you want the best results when using your paints use 100% cotton paper Cold Press watercolor paper. It would be interesting to see the difference between paint colours on wood pulp and cotton papers.
Thank you! The paper I use for swatches is detailed in the info box. I use cellulose for my swatches and cotton for my sketches. Thank you for sharing!
I have M.Graham Cobalt Teal and Turquoise and the Rosa Gallery. But my favourite hue is the PB16 Phthalo Turquoise. I have a bit left of the Holbein called Marine Blue. I like to mix them with Quinacridone Rose for muted purples.
Beautiful colors! And I like your palette at 2:06. Also, I am really liking this color series that you are doing, well done! Recently I bought a Lukas cobalt turquoise half pan and to my surprise I am liking it better than the Daniel Smith cobalt teal blue (my usual favorite). Cheers! 🎨🖌
Hey Morrison!! Thanks a lot. I usually really love my Lukas paints but this cobalt turquoise must have been a bad batch. Thanks for commenting and have a very lovely Sunday. 👋
Hi! 👋 I really like your videos and comparisons, unfortunately the light makes it very difficult to see differences on screen. I want to tell you this so you know, because I hope it might help! If it would be possible to look into daylight bulbs that might be one way to go. I hope you won't be too upset with me writing you this, and I look forward to seeing more of your videos! Kind regards, Hannah
Thank you Hanna, I have to try one! I rely too much on my window 😁. Thank you for your nice words, how could you possibly hurt me? Have a lovely Sunday. Elisabetta
@@WatercolorElisabetta It's tricky to communicate in writing since you can't very easily convey tone, so I'm very thankful you are receiving it with such grace! ☺️ Thank you, and you too!
Hi Hannah 👋🏼. I know what you mean by tone not being conveyed via words. But your tone actually came through, It was very obvious that you were making a suggestion rather than criticising the video 🙂. Have a nice week ahead 😊
@@awatercolourist Hi! Thank you for writing this! It's so kind of you and I really appreciate it! I feel a bit moved ☺️ I very much wish you the same!! 🤗
@@awatercolourist Oh! I forgot! Am I remembering wrong that you once gave me a tip on how to resize paper? Because I forgot to write it down! 😔 So if it was your tip and you wouldn't mind terribly I would be very thankful if you wanted to share it again!
Thank you once again for an incredible video. If I were to have a hunt through my overwhelming stash of watercolours from many of your favourite brands, would you be interested in receiving a gift? 🎁👩🎨🎨🖌
Aaaw Anita! This is very kind of you!! If this is something that you give away with pleasure, I will receive with a lot of pleasure! I really appreciate it ❤️
Thanks so much for your videos! I learn so much every time 🙏😊
Anja you are adorable ❤️🥰thank you so much!! Enjoy your Sunday, Elisabetta
@@WatercolorElisabetta Thanks :) And a great Sunday to you too!
Love these studies. Thank you for introducing me to Rosa watercolours! 💗
Thank to you for your kind words ❤️
I really like the Rosa Gallery, MGraham, and the White Nights!!! I do have the Rosa Gallery cobalt turquoise!
Thank you for your message ! Cobalt turquoise is a fascinating colour ❤️
The mixes are very useful! I particularly like seeing compliments as it helps me create blacks and greys easily.
Thank you! I like complementary colours as well. Have a nice week!

Grazie 🤩 cara Eleonora
ah they’re all beautiful! I have the DS PG50 and the Rosa Gallery PB28, and I’m happy with them. I enjoy these cobalt comparisons so much!
Thank you so much Sonya ❤️ your teal tubes are among my favourites!

Thank you Johanne!! Do you know that I have never tried Holbein Watercolor? How do you find them?
@@WatercolorElisabetta The Holbein paints are very nice but expensive here in Canada. I only have a few tubes and the Marine Blue is beautiful.
Thank you Johanne, just curious!
Maimeri Blu was used by my friend and master Zoltan Szabo. It is a great pigment which today I still use. 😊
I’m glad you like it! It’s a very good traditional Italian brand, and it’s totally underrated! Have a nice day ☺️ and thanks for your comment.

I'm curious that the colors in this video are quite dull. The real colors(the cobalt turquoise light ones) are actually quite saturated and brilliant.
I’m sorry
