Someone will probably explain it better, but the song is basically about their past: them and their parents were very poor, and they used to have debt collectors come into their house in the night and stuff like that. Basically the 'Dinosaurs' are a metaphor for the debt collectors and those kind of people, because obviously they would just be these huge scary horrible people like how Dinosaurs seem to kids. Plus the video kinda shows them having nightmares about it and things like that. I honestly adore this song but it's kinda heartbreaking when you realise what exactly it's about
